Patching the Game - Because it frustrated me.

Okay, so I seriously had problems getting Warcraft to play nice. Unfortunately I couldn't find a patching guide here on CoTH (if there is one then obviously I didn't look all that hard and I guess a Moderator will delete this thread) and the patches can be a real nightmare because of the sheer quantity of them between the release of Wrath of the Lich King and now. So if you're like me, just reinstalled the game, didn't know where to look for the right patches to begin with and don't want to spend ages sifting through god knows how many incremental patches - fear not! I thought I'd do the nice thing and regurgitate a guide that I stumbled on.

IMPORTANT: This guide only covers patching the GB and US versions of the game client. Don't bother trying to download the patches below if you use a version which is not GB or US (Such as the French or German version) - I tried it because the US patches are easier to find and I'm lazy but it didn't work with my GB version of the game and I ended up wasting lots of time (so don't make my mistake there). This guide also only covers a fresh install of the game. If you have installed WoW and patched it partially already then it is possible that the patches below will not work.

So if you just installed WoTLK from the disc then the odds are that you're on version 3.0.1 or 3.X.X as it is also known. You will need to download and install the patches in this order:

3.X.X --> 3.2.0

After you have downloaded and installed all these patches. You need to replace your realmlist.wtf as described by Kretol here:

I believe that is all, it's what I did and the game seems to be working all right. Here's the link to the original guide which is way more in depth than mine because I just wanted to run the patches over with people if they didn't know... Also it has a depatch guide which is handy if you updated too far! I believe this guy deserves credit because I'd have likely lost patience with it if I didn't read his guide:

Do the US patchs for Macintosh, and if so do they work in North American or only USA
