A Feedback Thread
#16
Seeing as I've been GMified, I'd like to request more feedback.

I understand a good deal of people have been disgruntled with my actions. (or at least, someone has.)

If you do, please, I have a feedback thread.

Post in it!

Honestly I haven't been disgruntled with your actions. I know some people found it questionable when you got morphed into different NPCs for minor rp roles, but honestly I think it helped spice up some of the environments.

An example I remember was when you and Rigley were both playing Makura. It was only for one rp but it was entertaining to watch them try to snip at us and panic as we came upon their pearl altar. It was fun, it was silly, it's something I'd like to see encouraged more between GMs and players. Instead of complaining that a player got to do this or got this temporary morph, maybe we should just enjoy the good humor it brought.

That's my opinion, at least.

I for one, sir, find your attitude absolutely disheartening. Unworthy of your position, completely ruthless - Dictatorial, tyrannical even. Words can't begin to describe the distaste that comes to tongue the simply pronounciation of the vile spice that is your name.

But on all seriousness! I've seen absolutely no issues on how you portray yourself as a Game Master, Xigo. I may be biased - but so far, at least, I've only seen you do your job as would be expected. And even before that, I recall fondly of your attitude. As I believe humor is a must in our everyday, stress-filled society. But I digress. Onto RP.

Dagrim is well played, and consistant in her personality. It's enjoyable to have Juna mess with her or try to teach her about the spirits, or even simply hang out and try to figure her fellow orc out. Arianna, on the few that I've seen, is a whimsical mistress as I'd expect a blood elf archmage to be. Xigo reflects the tortured side of the Draenei Vindicator, pushing away other races except their own, their past as his reasons. I rather enjoy most of your characters, even if I only RPed with one the most.

Except Ara'ghazi.

And Skyfin won't ever get approved.

The server just isn't ready for Skyfin, that's all. He'll come some day when we need him most, to save us all from Deathwing.

Thank you, chaps!

Speaking of those mini-events... does anyone want to give feedback on those as well?

I personally feel you're doing a great job Xigo.
Both you and Bountyhunter have been doing a bang up job on the character profiles and as I said in-game: Kudos to you for that. I've never seen profiles move so fast and I have no doubt you two will be a great asset to the GM team.

As for your RP. I'm afraid I only got the chance to RP with Arianna during the plague event but I enjoyed it. The fight Arianna and Amerand got in amused me and was one thing about the event I've found very enjoyable.

I have no qualms with you, all I can say is keep up the good work!

Thus I request for more feedback. Whether it be for GMing or roleplay or even puppeting. And whether it be a compliment or criticism, I accept it.

Forgive my ability to leech the life out of RP lately.

Seeing as 90% of my time in-game is spent being disgruntled or paranoid, I feel as though my in-game activity will soon sharply drop. At this point, I'll likely only log on to RP with friends (rarely) or when an event I know about is about to occur (super rarely).

I'll still remain active on the forums. For now though, I'm playing Aion. Hopefully the RP there is fun.

None of my characters are really significant. So... won't bother.

I should probably put this in the Absences thread.

But then again. Who really cares?

I couldn't make a convincing outfit with the WoW Model Viewer.

Plus with Runemasters gone...

Bump.

It's funny; I've only actually RPed with one of your characters directly a few times (Merica). Most of the time they're just standing there, invisible, while you puppet NPCs.

Which is what I'm posting about.

I've interacted with your mind control wizardy...six or seven times, I think, and never been disappointed. It's always a refreshing change when the NPCs near me wake up, and is more often than not a great jumping off point for starting other RP.

Example: the demons in Ashenvale, with my tauren drood. Because of that encounter, he now has a night elf friend, a reputation at Splintertree, and has narrowly avoided a felblood addiction.

Then there were the other times when it just...makes sense, for something to happen. Like when we ignore the NPCs in the area, like my death knight in Azshara, that time the naga were all "Y U IGNORE US??"

There was that other time when I had AFK'd in Mulgore and I came back to see an entire conversation between two NPCs near me.

It's just stuff like that that makes me smile, and really spices up the RP scene. I have a lot of fun whenever you make an appearance, and I'm sure everyone else does too. Keep it up!

So yeah. Just thought I'd let you know. Kudos.

... So.

-I've begun to note that roleplay with my characters bore others. I enjoy it. I like small things. But I'm guessing small things aren't very good in the grand scheme of things. I need to make big show-offy characters in order to join any sort of roleplay, because all roleplays where my characters would potentially fit have closed doors to me. And whenever I ask someone to roleplay it feels like I'm dragging them off to be bored to death and grant me pity interaction.

-Speaking of which, actually getting into roleplay is neigh impossible. With all relationships having been retconned, save a sparse few, none of my characters actually know others now. It's essentially come to me having a character sit nearby and watch from a distance, because just going up to people and saying WHY HERRO DER seems odd to me.

-Events are hard to run. No one joins them. I'm fairly certain this is due to no investment in these encounters, and a general dislike of how I treat the characters of others. Even if I ran one it would be lackluster regardless.

-Due to this, a storyline would be hard to run as well. If no one joins events, the only way I can get a storyline going is through random NPC encounters (99% of my roleplay is puppeting NPCs instead of playing my own characters these days). And even then, everyone stays in cities. Actually having encounters occur would be hard, and I'm apprehensive about killing the characters of others.

-Speaking of which, I just puppet NPCs these days. It kinda sucks. Because I'm controlling someone else's character, essentially (Blizzard's). All of the developed ones are untouchable, not that I would want to RP them anyway. It just... feels like I plaster a basic personality onto NPCs and roleplay them. It doesn't feel very creative, and I feel like a troll for doing it because MOST of the time I puppet NPCs because someone's doing something stupid ICly. And then I get complaints and what not.

... So I guess I'm essentially a 'Puppet-GM'. Or something. Eh.

Just give me feedback on NPCs if you feel anything's wrong with their portrayal.

The only feedback I can give you is that your drive for CotH honestly feels like it died down a little bit.

I don't know, Xigo. You're fun. That didn't change. But everytime the subject is the server, you seem to get grim. Tired, bothered.

That's my opinion. Take it at face value and do with it what you will.
