Dave's Gurubashi Modifiers

Manu, sadly, you're probably right. Using the DK class ability and the undead racial makes them insane. But I can only hope that it doesn't really get used that much in such a combination.

I don't understand, how, exactly?

DaveM Wrote:(Elite)
+3 on all rolls for each opponent beyond the first. (+12 VS 5 opponents) (Doesn't apply to minions)
Elite should be renamed to Conservation of Ninjutsu.

Reread the bonuses for DK and Forsaken. And recall that a DK can take the Forsaken racial. Harder to crit, and heals a normal hit on a crit. Seems a little OP to me. But hey...

If anything I'd think a Tauren, or Draenei racial with DK, would be more op then that. But I don't think any of these are OP, except for my Ley Walker, actually. +13 on all attacks, -5 on defense, and once per combat +40 to a defense roll.

Think that's not op?

Don't know about ley-walker attacks, but they're masters at teleporting. The huge defense roll makes sense to me.

In 1 VS 1, the Ley-walker has +10 att, -5 def. (Whereas mage has +8 to attack rolls, -5 to defense rolls.)

The (Elite) power counts opponents beyond the first. He would have +13 att VS two simultaneous opponents (and only -2 to defense rolls).

Comparing to the mage, the attack bonus is a big bigger + the teleport super-one-shot.

By that logic I could complain about not having enough minions as a necromancer. (2X+1=Minions) :P X being number of opponents. So like, 3 opponents = 7. But no, I'm not gonna say that. But I do think that the blood elf racial should involve magic and not nimbleness. Like an addition to casting as well.

...I think it would be kinda cool if each class had abilities they could use too like encounter powers (from brutalskars's events)

The X in the Necromacer refers to the HP the one or two minions have.

Vs 3 opponents you can summon two 3 HP minions, or start with one at 4 hp.

And the racial bonuses, more than all else, have to be generally useful. Casting bonuses for Belves would be unfair to Belf non-casters.

Also, Crits are rarer than you might think. A Forsaken (or undead) DK has only 3 hp.
Those are very likely to go before he scores any crit.

Also, yea, encounter powers are indeed great, except this was meant to be something easily storable in memory and meant to add as much flavour as a page worth of accessible text can.

Again, I reiterate that players and DMs can expand or modify all this as they see fit.

Perhaps there should be a modifier for armor as well?

Armor only helps against melee and arrows. Magic ignores armor.

Mmh. I'd say an ice bolt, as a physical object (though conjured), would be blocked. And perhaps fire. Arcane? Don't know much about it.

Yea, you can add a lot of layers, and slowly work your way up to systems like Dusk's or the DnD books, This just means to be a 'lite' version to break the '5 hp, crits, roll init' monotony.

Feel free to add any such proposed 'optional modifier sets' in the thread if that's something you feel like doing.

The Warlock's ability, Felled Up, you said "if you roll a 1 or a 100". Does that mean all rolls, not just attack? Would defense, initiative and/or retreat rolls aply to this ability? (...Initiative... that'd be a fast battle....)

And one more thing. When it says "the warlock wins the combat", does that mean against one or all of your opponents, cause all tough a 2% chance on and insta win isn't very riged, it seems like it could stack in a violent and abusive manner.

Edit: I feel a little dumb posting this, cause I posted about 3 days ago saying "I don't think a 2% insta win would ever be riged", but here I am with a change of heart XP

I think that would be a bit weird. It's probably only on attack rolls.
