Ancient Of Lore (Persistent) :)

You wouldn't get -banned- for not playing a character properly. Just go out there, have fun, and do your best to advance others' RP! That's what it's all about, really.

I'm still on it. I haven't logged in-game, have I? :B. And they are hugely important. It's like a Noble, except it's like 5 nobles squished in one. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if the Lore Characters in Darnassus regularly asked for the Ancients help on issues. Their insight, as said earlier, is incredibly deep. But yes, it is a case by case basis. I was just saying that I believe that for anybody that's not a GM, an Ancient is quite a task to underhand. Fel, it might be hard for GMs.

"Ancients speak Darnassian, though a few also speak Common. Their voices sound like ancient trees creaking in the wind."

They speak! And not only that, but in that cool manner you see in LoTR. I can almost imagine your ancient falling asleep half-way in midst conversation (An entirely understandable fact, judging by how boring people usually are; see: Lecturers).

Ancients are powerful, unparallel'd in wisdom, and demi-godlike trees. . .relatively speaking. Power is always relative. You can't quantify it. Sure, to a peasant with a pitch-fork, the Ancient of Lore is some pretty scary thing. And so is an army of cats (Which trumphs Ancients of Lore, just sayin'). But on the other hand, you can't really be powerful if you have nothing to relate your powers too, and I really doubt the Ancient of Lore can -swim-. He/It is also in Teldrassil. With many other Ancients there. Granted, the power makes it slightly iffy, but in my honest opinion, power =/= roleplay and roleplay =/= fighting so I see no reason why -power- should even equate to how well a roleplay goes. Roleplay is about the humanization of a character, to go through the footsteps of that character, to play out the role of the character as if you are it. It really isn't about roflstomping everything in sight; there are a lot of other games you can play for -that-. So I don't see power as a really good reason to flame this, but yeah.

As for the lack of gruntship. You are either a roleplayer. Or you are not a roleplayer. You either roleplay, or you don't. So I don't see how gruntship should equate into this, and I tend to play by a rule that, "People are innocent until judged guilty", so trust should be given unless broken.

All that being said and done, you should empathize if your idea isn't accepted until a point of time in the future, near or far, because as far as I could tell none of the custom-model character submissions had been approved till now. Still, it is good to put your idea and concept first for the GM's and Kretol's purview.

I support increasing Night-Elven roleplay.

Now, a final thing; you need cats nesting in the Ancient of Lore. Wisp-possessed cats. An army of them. And they -only- speak in Haikus, Cinquains or romantic sonnets to anybody who tries to speak with them. Without them, your Ancient isn't complete!

Yours sincerely,
Zarquon

I'll put that in mind.

... Zarquon, I love you.

That is all.

But really, you always have the craziest ideas. I love that. I can't wait to see how you'll handle Lacuna, if he/she/WHATEVER THE FEL IT IS gets approved. I get the feeling it shall bring lulz. About power, it should never affect another's view on whether an RP is "good" or not. Power is an IC concept that allows one potential dominance over another. Most forms of power have reared their ugly heads as a social or geo-political form of power, whereas legitimate "I'll beat your ass" type power is few and far between, unless you speak of ebilz RP, in which case they will have all of the above forms of power.

In my expierence, I have played an Ancient of Lore on a seperate server. A good one no less, and I had to RP with an Admin on this ancient to prove I could handle it. To be completely honest it is a daunting task to want to RP an Ancient of Lore. However! it is very fun.

I joined a group of Night Elves and followed them around as they did their own guildy things around Ashenvale and Azshara and such. The only thing I can say is that being an Ancient of Lore means you practically -HAVE- to accept all creatures. Be wary of them, sure, but be open and friendly no less.

A job of the AoL's is to gather Lore, Mage, and things of that nature. What if that Orc Shaman has a peculiar spell you've never seen? Surely you'd want to learn it, or hear of the exploits of a Troll.

I don't want to soundlike I am saying it is really hard, but it is a fun challenge and I wish you luck in it!
Do you have what it takes to join the Fighting Blues?
Do you have what it takes to defend your homeland?
Will you stand up in defense of the innocent? The weak?
Will you stand up in defense of Justice and the Law?

The only thing is im not a Grunt I have requirements just idk why but they barely look at them.

You do not meet the grunt requirements. Were you to read them, you would know that you have to be playing on the server for a month. Not a day.

The topic will be reopened when you are applicable to apply for it.
