"Man my job sucks. I have to go from 9 to five. Sigh."
"Quit then."
"I can't."

You're saying that anyone who has a job and complains about it doesn't have to do it. Oi. That's silly.
What? Those people make money from their jobs. They need them to live. Being a GM is an unpaid, volunteer position. One that deserves a great deal of respect. But it's not something you HAVE to do, like a paying job would be.
Technically you -can- quit. No one is stopping you.
I'm ... not sure of much, but I'm fairly certain that I don't support the notion that GMs should lie back and take your criticism with grace and dignity or be given the ultimatum of quitting.

This is a tango and by God it takes two.
Who said they were lying back and taking it?
I think we've gotten all the good debate we're going to get out of this thread.

Does anyone else have something important to add? If not, then perhaps we should let it die.
I have been reluctant to post in this thread. Why? Because to me it just looks a bunch of whine over problems people themselves made up. I see no major problems with this server. I have no major problems with the GM team. I can't even think of actually having a problem with anything on this server.
The only thing I've ever needed for some RP is a setting and my imagination, the tools and the stuff Kretol and the GM team have given us on this server is freaking amazing. It's fantastic and I could'nt be happier about it.

I think from seeing the last few posts, that people want -to- much and want someone else to do it for them. It's like all those people complaining about there never being any RP outside BB. "Oh we have to get RP out of BB!" But they themselves go to BB anyway instead of trying to actually put some effort into getting people out of the zone.
I've always lived by the rule of:"If you want something, go out and get it."
What you people seem to be doing is "I want something, I shall whine untill I get it."
Now you people've actually gone so far as to try and blame the people that sacrifice their time, their free-time, the time they could be spending on stuff they actually enjoy a lot more, to make things just a little bit better here? Shame on you. Really, shame on you.

"Oh well, they don't have to be a GM." True, they don't. But if you're going to use that as an argument I might aswell say: "You don't have to play on this server either". Honestly, if you have a problem, go out and do something about it. Posting a comment with a suggestion is one thing. Actually persuing that suggestion, that idea and planning it out, talking it over with the GM team and putting some effort into it, is another.

Tl;dr If you have a problem, go out and do something about it.

Ah, how I love that old saying. "It takes two to tango."

From GM side, it requires them approaching in friendly and awesome manner, doing their duties. Sometimes they have to step in, show that they mean business to make the server run smoothly.

From the player side, it requires patience and trust that the GMs are looking into things and doing things the best they can. If they get told to do something.. Swallow it and do it.

Even if you do not agree to it, just stop what you are doing or do what they tell you to. Afterwards, send in a complaint if it still feels that bad. ^.~ Or so a teacher told me once. Out of respect for the GMs, do what they tell you to do, if you do not like it.. complain afterwards to a Admin.

This may not be the ideal approach, and may be contradicting whatever I wrote earlier.. But opinions change daily I suppose. After nineteen pages my stance has been flexible, I offered opinions, and suggestions here and there so I truly do not know what else I can add. I'm.. shaking my head at some replies, cheering to the other.

Perhaps a thing is to lock this thread down, work with the things given by now and put up a new thread with GM ideas and suggestions regarding the ideas given in here. It's not that I want to halt the discussion, absolutely not but.. there's been pretty much very contradicting answers and viewpoints, and discussing them in this thread amongst the players.. is perhaps not giving the GMs much to work with.

Just a thought.
Agreed. Nobody wants to read through almost 18 and a half pages of this, so everything will be redundant. XD

A fine suggestion.

18 pages of honesty, after all, will take time to process. But I assure you, this has all not been without purpose: This was a wake up call not only for me but for the GM community.

We're already taking a lot of what you have said to serious heart. Changes will be made.

That is all.

Sincerely,
The Management
