Like.

*Reminder*

He used Death Knight's and Hunters as examples, dont take it into a literal argument. I like the idea seeing as it is true with the previous comment "What is stopping somebody from learning a weapon IF their character has a good enough reason?"
Hallo =^. .^= Kitty sees you.

I still vote that instead, more classes just be shield enabled.

I suggest non-shield off-hand shields, so all classes can use a shield. This would certainly be nice for the Death Knight that prefers to use a one-hand weapon and a shield, or even a hunter that prefers to have a small shield, but cannot do so because of game mechanics and/or balancing issues. It wouldn't be restricted to the two example classes, obviously, as any class could actually use the shield if they so choose. I was just throwing suggestions out there.

Thanks for readin' my suggestion.
Agreed, honestly they should just remove class restrictions with armor/weaps for this server, so if we want to be a mage in say mail and be a battle-mage (something ive been wanting to try for YEARS)

The Mage in Mail is already a no-go. Ever.

Weapons, you swing. Easier then other stuff.

Not even close. At all. Remotely.

edit: Wow, I was an inexcusably rude person looking back. Apologies.

Bump. Because this sank to the bottom of the pool of ideas without any kind of decision. Or maybe the decision was to let it sink, in which case, let it sink again.

The problem with off-hand shields is that the orientation of the object itself is determined by the object file itself. So unless there's a right-handed shield object existing in WoW, its not going to happen.

Flora is a lefty and does use the Spinebreaker fist weapon as a small shield, so just be creative with existing items or ICly reverse your gear?

Unless someone wants to use their technical skills to reverse the model like was done with Fist of the Deity.

:O

Of what do you speak? Who did it, and what sort of procedure is involved?

Wouldn't the orientation not matter? Shields are off-hand items to begin with, but.. non-shield shields that, say, a mage could use, would also.. be.. off-hand? Or.. I'm confused. What do you mean?

I think Dae is trying to say that if you flip-flopped which hand the shield went in, you'd be holding the face of the shield and blocking with the inside of it.

I could be entirely wrong, though.

I'll just.. re-state what I mean. There needs to be off-hand items that look like shields, but AREN'T classed as shields, so that, for example, a mage could use a shield. It wouldn't break out super-important pvp mechanics, and it'd be nice to have.
