Why are CotH's GMs such jerks?

Oh lawd, that's something that will never have a solid footing.

"Too limiting!"

"Too lenient!"

"Unimaginative!"

"Overambitious!"

But the worst are the people who glorify how much better stuff was back in the day, if we ever start talking about pet peeves again then that's mine.

I think the worst part of being a GMis having to deal with really intelligent players who you know are great roleplayers, who've added a lot to the server but who simply cannot agree with a decision/person/situation. Or someone you regard as a friend who turns apeshit crazy, or appears to, and rambles and attacks people.

No, even worse - seeing pretty much every person who works along you get worn out and leaving, in many cases in a rather bad manner.

Since I just had a lengthy conversation with someone, I want to make something clear:

This post is not an attempt to defend GMs by saying that they're always in the right, or that they have a free pass to act like dorks to you. They aren't and they don't. This was made, and worded as it was, to show that GMs are people as well, with extra stress in their lives and a lot of things to do. It was also to show that often times, while you may think that a GM is being a jerk, often it's them simply doing their job or them having a very human burst of emotion.

Again, I must stress that if you have a problem with a GM, and you feel that they're being unreasonable or pointlessly cruel, you could and should take screenshots and send them to the administration. We don't dismiss these reports. We take them very seriously.

And if you don't believe him: There has been a GM who was fired. And not for outrageous actions like TimmyD, Lethys and Lucelia.

Because they have not learned the therapeutic ways of turning players into plagued deer!

Rule of thumb, when it doubt, turn people into plagued critters (deer, squirrels, rabbits, etc). Sit there listening to a plagued critter talk about their worries is so cute and comical you have no choice but to cuddle wuddle them and try to make things all better!

I support the above theory. Next time drama occurs, turn all people into critters.

If I was a squirrel I don't think I'd have any complaints.

I was waiting for you to post. I was also waiting for someone to make the "The GMs are all corrupt!" joke.

I would also like to point out the GMs won't ban people for uttering a single word. Since there's interestingly enough people under that impression at times.

I'll now prove this point by doing it.

I've only been here for about a week, and I think the GMs are doing a pretty good job. I know there is information available in the wiki, but at times my inability to find the information I seek is due to poor navigation on my part, as well as a few things being unclear the first time I read it. As much as possible, I try to avoid asking too many questions, as I understand that GMs are often busy with more important things such as managing the server.

If you wish to ask a GM a question, don't be afraid to. The worst case scenario is that they tell you they are busy and to ask another member of staff. But don't forget the community itself can answer questions, as well.
