Some kind of vampire ?

Technically, as long as you do not bite necks and suck blood out of people.. And don't turn into bats and shun absolute sunlight..

You are not a vampire. ^.~

Now we're just splitting hairs with this lol. I think the term 'Vampire' goes a bit deeper (or shallower) than that.

Back on the topic:

http://www.wowpedia.org/Vampire Wrote:'Vampires' of World of Warcraft are not to be confused with the vampires found in European mythology. A 'Vampire' of World of Warcraft is a being or entity that drains the energy, life force, or blood from another being, typically using spells or artifacts. A vampire found in European mythology is specifically a corpse who rises at night and bites humans on the neck using long and pointy canine teeth, and sucks their blood. The latter does not exist in WoW. That being said, avoid roleplaying a European mythological vampire. You'll just make yourself look silly.
So yeah, the rules in the European vampire don't apply in WoW vampires, and I do mean things like being in danger in the light, using those canine teeth to suck blood out of people's necks, morphing into bats and mist, or even transforming parts of body.
Though a Blood-oriented Death Knight can indeed transform, or rather create, things in his body, like the bloodworms, and also regenerate using the blood of the fallen foes.
/noddy-nod.

So Blood-oriented Death Knight, aka 'Vampire', is indeed allowed? And if that is so, does being a troll increase the ability to regenerate?

Somebody just had to mention the Blood specced Death Knight...

If I see some fancy pants Death Knight running around in cloth gear emoting the drinking of blood Imma rage so hard because I fear for the worst. A loophole to the no vampire rule, and soon we are going to be full of Blood Specced DKs all draining the blood from each other like it's a Buffy the Vampire Slayer Marathon!

So I plead to you, DO NOT DO THIS!

I feel like I should post a funny vampire picture here to show the lulzyness of this.

I've always interpreted Blood DKs as draining the life of their foes. Not specifically their blood.

I dunno Xigo, I'm looking into this on the WoWpedia and it is not looking good.

[Image: Spell_deathknight_bloodpresence.png]"A dark guardian who manipulates and corrupts life energy to sustain him- or herself in the face of an enemy onslaught."

It would appear that their specialty is to control blood. Of course I could be dead wrong.

They can apparently turn blood into worms.
[Blood Parasites] Your melee attacks have a 5/10% chance to spawn a Bloodworm. The Bloodworm attacks your enemies, gorging itself with blood until it bursts to heal nearby allies. Lasts up to 20 sec.

They can boil the blood of enemies.
[Crimson Scourge] Increases the damage dealt by your Blood Boil by 20/40%, and when you land a melee attack on a target that is infected with your Blood Plague, there is a 5/10% chance that your next Blood Boil will consume no runes.

and this one especially bugs me.
[Vampiric Blood] Temporarily grants the Death Knight 15% of maximum health and increases the amount of health generated through spells and effects by 25% for 10 sec. After the effect expires, the health is lost.

Now I know these are just names of talents but it would appear to point towards them having some control over their own blood and the blood of others. I would like more feedback on this.

Death knights can control blood itself. They can use this blood to magically heal themselves, or their allies.
They don't -drink- blood. But they -do- absorb it.

That doesn't make them vampires, though, and well, if a death knight did go around drinking people's blood, they'd be put down quickly enough.

And by quickly enough, that means while it's still in the profile stage.

Blizzard intentionally made Blood Elves to be mana vampires. It is also within their lore that some of the race began using blood. You just don't have retractable hollow fangs you can drink with like a straw. I'm sure an engineer could make some up for you though.

Sadly, people read the word vampire and think every vampire has to be like Dracula for it to be a vampire. Some of the first recorded stories of vampires stem from "pagan rituals" & cannibalism. The whole rising from the dead thing came much later on. It's kinda like how people read "cat girl" and instantly think of anime cat-girls. Yet, the term merely means: A catgirl is a female with cat traits, such as cat ears, a cat tail, or other feline characteristics on an otherwise human body. Many authors have taken the "human" part and replaced it with "humanoid". I played D&D with a half Elf half Catfolk (catfolk are D&D's cat-girls & cat-boys). Blizzard's main cat girls are the trolls whom are blessed by their Gods.

From wikipedia: Vampires are mythological or folkloric beings who subsist by feeding on the life essence (generally in the form of blood) of living creatures

And I caught myself rambling again ...
