Character Comparisons- Combat Proficiency
#16
Adelaide Vesser, Human Rogue: When well prepared, 10 (albeit by technicality. Such preparations would be tailored to fighting a giant two-headed Ogre, specifically.) '

When ill-prepared, 2.

Adelaide was the sort of character who would spend longer than a month trying to pick apart any specific creature's flaws and weaknesses, creating specific potions that would augment her skills and abilities to breach the ability gap, creating poisons that would slow the opponent's abilities, etc. She would not enter a, "hunt," so to speak, without having done this. She tailored her fighting style to specifically take down this -one- enemy type, more often than not within a certain time frame and without having to deal with more than one. To fight anyone without such preparation, well... Then she's just a doctor with a crossbow. Still sort of deadly if she can hit you, but she's more a walking crossbow fashioned out of glass, at that point.

Yes, yes, I know. Putting her as a ten makes her sound rather over-powered, but I kid you not, if she were to be attacked without having planned to fight what attacks her, she'd be a civilian who knows how to point a crossbow and fire.

Durp, I might as well give this a go.

1) Jean McCarthy (+Abajillion. Nah, realistically between an eight and ten.) FISTSWARRIORLOL-Jean to say the least is the most combat oriented character I have...Which is funny, because I didn't intend for her to be like that originally. Through RP experiences, mostly fights, tournaments and events, she grew through out the community for having fists of steel and skin of stone. While bravery and balls may be a key point of the character, it also has been a down fall of her's. I mean, what -normal- character would -willingly- punch a t-rex in the face? Barely any, but she's done it. This has also put her in terrible situations, most of which she comes out on top. But, if someone with magic tries to fight her, she has and more than likely, always will lose. Her skin may be immune to being clobbered by fists, but magic can penetrate it like a knife through butter. Also, she is quite slow. I mean, being covered in muscle is awesome and all, but it slows a girl down. Hell, she can't even swim because of it! She is denser than dense!

2)Sprinkles Ess Springsprocket (5) Arcane Mage- While Sprinkles went through the training of becoming a mage, she found herself a new passion consisting of baked confections. But don't let the smell of sweets mask her hidden evil. She has an awful tendency of becoming angry and toppling people with scorching hot muffins, teleporting you off the sides of piers or even enchanting her muffins with all sorts of awful magical spells! To be honest though, you'd really have to piss her off. Anyways, she spent most of her time 'mastering' (a term I use lightly here) teleportation...Meaning, if she feels threatened, she will find a way to escape. What a pansie!

I don't normally do this sort of shtick since it's hard to be objective, realistic, and still be fair to your characters. Plus it just invites dick-waving, but whatever.

Cristovao di Silvio (Holy/Prot Paladin)
Hand to hand: 7
Sword and board: 7
Light: 7
By your powers combined: 9

Cristo is an interesting case depending on what he's doing. He's an experienced fist fighter due to living with dwarves, and has developed his skills in combat arts over the years as a paladin. Where he really shines, though, is when he combines his skill sets, rather that rely on them separately.

Ultimately, though, Cristo prefers to rely on teamwork than solo abilities. He's done a great deal more feats of strength with his friends backing him up than on his own accord.

Hrodebert Rivermouth (Survival/Marksman Hunter + Engineering)
Up close: 6
Beastmaster: 6
Use a gun: 10

Hrod up close is perfectly capable of punching your face in... and that's about it. Nor is he a terribly gifted beast whisperer. With a gun, though, even the nastiest two-headed ogre isn't very intimidating with their brains relocated from outside their skull. He's also got all those nice engineering things, like grenades and wrist flamethrowers and all that jazz.

Madugo (Elemental/Restoration Shaman + hint of witch doctor)
Using a hammer: 4
Using nature: 6

Madugo is pacifistic and dislikes fighting. He has no real skill with weapons outside of "apply hammer to face to make brain salad", and he focuses his elemental skills on communing with nature and speaking to spirits rather than burning people's faces off. If you push him into a fight, you'll find his talents are powerful, but not skilled at using them as an actual fighter.

Aryeon (Discipline Priest)
When not giving a damn: 5
When giving all the damns: 10

Aryeon is a former arcanist turned priest with 300 years of experience in learning how to use the Light and swinging it properly. His willpower is strong as Titansteel, and his mind is highly focused and disciplined. When pushed to the limit of his abilities, Aryeon's powers can probably cure cancer and turn your brain into soup with an angry stare.

For the most part though Aryeon just lulzes around being an old fat guy who'll at worst punch you in the face for annoying him, and the only person alive who can annoy Aryeon is Urameil.

Du'guro (Fury Warrior)
In his prime: 9
Old fogie: 7

Du'guro, back in the day, was an excellent warrior and savage fighter. In hid old age, his skills have only gotten better, but losing and eye and his chronic coughing from his punctured lungs have slowed him down quite a bit. But do not underestimate him, because he's still gigantic and scary looking.

And I don't care to list anyone else!
Your stories will always remain...

Kazuru (9) (Blood/Frost Death Knight)- Despite being one of the most lovable Death Knights that anyone has ever known Kazuru is a vicious fighter. She can take hits like a boss and if she actually resorts to turning her runed chain sword on then she'll freaking turn her enemy into a blood mess. Still waiting for the fight with Epsilon. May consider bumping up her score if she wins xP

Ida (6.5) (Rogue)- Ida's not really combat oriented. She's mainly focused on lieing, running, or sneaking out of combat. If it wasn't for her dirty 'everything goes' fighting style and witty combat tactic then this chacter would be more of a 3 or a 4, because she is very weak.

Jazz (??? 6 ???) (Mage)- Jazz is... an odd one... he's not extaordinary when it comes to fights but the odd fact is that he's handcuffed... He's immobilized at his arm because of this and yet he will actually use the handcuffs as an actuall -weapon. Not only that but Jazz isn't any push over. He's had a few fights in his days and on top of that he's a rather impressive fire mage. I'm not sure what score he'd be if he were to take the handcuffs off. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Galic ( 8 ) (Warrior)- He's an orc... ENOUGH SAID!!! *chuckles* But seriously. Galic is a very good fighter and only one person in his day has been able to beat him. He is a mounted warrior, so his attacks can be very 'hit and run'ish, but he travels in a pack and will tare through most fights easily.

Arn (10) (Mage)- I haven't played Arn in a while but he is hands down a 10. He's 70 something years old and even claims to be a pacifist, but this old forsaken is god when is comes to arcane magic. He has conjured portals underground to make people fall into endless pits. His arcanic writings have turned a fishing pole into a lethal weapon. Not only that but his giant rat familiar, Bigges, has fought and defeated enemies on his own.

Krel (7) (Paladin)- I plan to bring Krel back after the restart. He was really nothing special. A simple cook and engineer, but the paladin thing came from his Brother forcing it on him. In the begining Krel was supposed to be a simple weakling, but his incredible luck in roll fights proved his very player that there was more to him then that. With his motavation of his love life, Deltris, and probably his brothers bone breaking training (literally...) Krel actually became a rather great fighter.
