Pretty much sofar as that it doesn't become overpowered it seems that most concepts are applicable as far as I can tell.
Granted you'll likely want to make a clear notation of what you are in your profile, of course.

I think it might be worth while to draft up a list of the ones that won't be allowed like Fel-sworn, just so everyone isn't always asking "IS DIS KAY?", or better yet so you don't have to keep telling people that you can't be X class.
Unless you are. Then carry on.

I would assume! It's basically just using the enchanting profession.

On that note, what's the argument against Fel Sworn? I liked playing out Felin'areth's addiction and transformation back in the day, and even though I doubt I'll be doing that Warlock direction again, I don't really know what about them made them untenable as a continuing player class. Was it the power level difference?

I think it's partly because of the custom model. Don't quote me on that though. Unless I'm right, then quote me all you want.

It was the custom models. You can still make this attempt, but you'll need to do a custom model submission and get that by Kretol.

In the end, I really don't think Free-Form Variants will get anything custom at all, other than being able to RP as a said "Pyromancer" and whatnot. They're still normal characters, in the end.

Also, this helps make training to become a Variant class much more friendlier. You're free to move at your own pace and seek your own method of training to become that 'Variant'. You don't always have to start out as one, I believe.
It may not come with much power, but the progression of a character through rigorous training to become a "Beastmaster" would be very interesting, if must say so myself. =]

I'm surprised, with the wealth of Warlock items out there, that people actually needed custom models to represent Fel mutations. Doubly so that they played their characters when they were already past the 100% demon mark. But that's a good point! Custom things are not simple.
