The Skin Children
#16
Figured its time to really get this arc started so...

The Prelude: Lab Sixteen

The process of creating one of these Children takes many days in planning, engraving the most intricate runes to represent such complexities. He at first attempted to break the project down in sections, constructs that were just personalities, with no abilities. Other constructs focused on abilities yet had no personalities. He separated these works in different labs, and combined the data with other tests to make the current generation. Sanguis has made sure he's been elusive in being caught.

In Duskwood there have been reporting of murders, kidnappings and bizarre sightings. Corpses found chewed, burned, slashed and many not knowing the origin; mostly being blamed on the dangerous creatures and people that hide in the woods. It had become slightly out of control when the numbers escalated in a short time. A group of travelers are attacked by some decaying people, as if acid were thrown over their bodies. Elves and humans showing no sign of loss of motor skills or cordination despite their decayed appearance. They also all shared the same emotionless evil glare. These are the failed experiments of Lab 16

Premise:

This is open to both the Skin Children and other players, being placed on either side. Seeing how Sanguis has finally figured out his Skin children he would wish to get rid of all obselete creations. He'd send the Skin Children who were able to erase the lab's existence. This would probably cause conflict with the hostile failed experiments inside. Also it would give more of an opening to what they are, show their history which may bother or intrigue some. Others possibly may be indifferent.

For the unaffiliated, you were traveling in the area. Either you were on your way through Duskwood, or you saw/heard/read/ people being attacked savagely in the area. Maybe one was your friend, colleague, or just a sad tale. Also you could be a bounty hunter, just looking for some gold. In which they will come in contact with the hostile failed experiments and maybe some of the other Skin Children. Perhaps this is where -your- characters' sample is taken. There will be combat, but it will be simple.

Less than six combatants, Roll 100 turn for turn

Greater than six combatants, Roll in sides. I.E. The party is attacked by the failed experiments. Roll 55 or higher to dodge.

The experiments hobble back, roll 50 or higher to attack.

This way we can keep the action and get along with the story, which will leave hints and clues for both parties. The 'Heroes/bounty hunters' will find out about these abominations, and see lab work. Possibly even insight on who is behind it. The Skin children will have an opening to their origin. And handling another order they were given. I'm a fan of giving loot, it was something we tried on War of Cosmos. Basically an item found which gives a minor bonus in Skin Children related events only. You can still use it as a regular weapon in normal RP but the roll bonus does not and probably wont be acknowledged with others out side the story arc.

Looking at Thursday around 3pm server time.
