Come on. Hit me.

I should be more constructive.

So, first off, Castor.

Castor is a great person, he's just a happy-go-lucky paladin who wants to enjoy himself and knows how to be a gentleman. Him and Calia are just adorable together, needs to do more of that. >:C He's a kid and he acts like one. Baidin and Castor are bros for life, hopefully they can go off into the sunset and purge some warlocks together(If he ever gets out of the HoS... ;) )

Voragh reminds me of a punk orc, taking advantage of his brute strength to do whatever he wishes. I like to think of him as the new-mindset of orcs under Garrosh... Which can be both a good thing and a bad thing. Though I do get a vibe he could be toned down a bit with the 'lulz'. Otherwise, I think he's a great character from being built out of the Love Exchange. The spider lady would totally use him though.

That's about all I got really, I need to get on Calia's parents more to hang out with the Black Harvest more. (Though.. I tend to avoid events.. Which is most of what I've seen you guys do. x.x)

Some people seem to think he's awesome and love him, but others (I think maybe a majority) think he's too over the top, too ridiculous, swears too much, and generally feels more like a lulz machine than a character. Being over the top, ridiculous and swearing a lot are reflections of the character's personality, so I'm uncertain how to change them. Do you think there's ways I could better execute a character like Voragh without straying too far into Lulz Central? Or do you think I'm being a hypochondriac and doing nothing serious wrong?

Now, my exposure to Voragh has been limited to a couple of the days of the Love is in the Air event and the days in Kidnapped so far, but since you asked for feedback on this guy, here it is...

I'm actually going to have the complete opposite point of view as C0rzilla. I feel Voragh's main flaw isn't so much that he's a "lulz machine," but rather that he's one that acts in a completely unorcish fashion. A humorous character is fine, so the real problem is when you have a character that is so far removed from his race that he might as well be anything else. Voragh comes off, more than anything else, as a violent frat-boy. He's just too far removed from the concepts of honor and practicality that really define how orcs act.

But I'm also an orcish purist, so take that for what it's worth.

Please don't take this as an insult to your RP abilities, just my feedback on one character. Still looking forward to our Warhammer games!

Hm. Thanks for the feedback, Grak, it's given me something to think about.

I actually agree with most of what you've said, here. I think a violent frat boy is an entirely accurate summation of his character, and I confess to playing up this side of him for cheap laughs. Voragh was, all told, my second orcish character in my RPing history (Dhorgun, preceding him by a month and a half, was my first) and I'll admit freely to knowing the race better now than I did when I first kicked him off. Recently, particularly in the past few weeks, I've been looking back on him and trying to retroactively iron out certain aspects of his character and trying to fit them into a traditional orcish mindset.

And I've realised something. It's not just that he's an orc who's forsook tradition, though; it's that, being born into the Bonechewers, fighting in the First and Second Wars and diverging away from orcish society around the time Durotar was founded, he's got a completely warped and misshapen view of what it means to be an orc to begin with. He's ultimately intended to be a washed-up wreck of an orc from an outcast clan who tries to relive his glory days of blood and thunder during the First and Second Wars whenever he can and fills the gaps in with Cartel-derived hedonism, spewing bile and vitriol and picking fights as a defence mechanism when his ego is slighted.

I know it's perfectly easy to explain these things as I've just done, but actually pulling it off correctly is a different matter, so thanks for the heads up. C0rzilla's comment a few months back was greatly reassuring as to whether I was proverbially doin it rite, but this has thrown me a little. I'm concerned, now, whether I'm accomplishing what I set out to achieve with Voragh, so I think I'll reevaluate him some more. This has reminded me, however, that I need to RP with you on Dhorgun sometime. He's definitely a more traditional orc - both IC and OOC - and I'd be interested to hear what you think. (Loving the Warhammer too, BTW.)

Thanks, Micky! I appreciate the positive comments regarding Castor (Baidin better not get hisself corrupted >:C) and I agree, him and Cali are just too cute. But I also know what you're saying about Voragh - although I'm not quite sure what you mean by his 'being built out of the Love Exchange', as he was a few months old before that event rolled around. That was just his first time to 'shine', so to speak, in the public eye. You're onto something when you mention Garrosh's Horde, though, because one of a few potential ideas I have for him is to gradually inch his way back towards Horde orthodoxy through his support of its new leader come Cata.

And yes, you do need to be on those two more, although we're having a quiet week what with Kidnapped going on. THINGS SHALL CHANGE SOON.

Thanks, you guys, for giving me something constructive to work off. I'll try and take it all on board. Cheers.

I think last night's drunken rp felt a little too silly and retail-like. At the same time.. I could just not stop laughing! I was laughing so hard I was crying, I think Rigley can vouch.

I think sometimes we do things that are really a little too out there and may break immersion. I believe sometimes these things can happen in small doses and that was one of those rps. I think everyone enjoyed it and sort of knew it as a guilty pleasure to have rat-arsed drunken rp.

I'm not very good with being constructive but I can say that the rps you do are pretty great. B:

Yeah, my train of thought throughout that entire RP (or at least after we all got shouted over to help Gorzan) was "Oh god. Oh god. I hope there aren't any new people watching this. We'll scare them away from the server forever. BUT IT'S JUST TOO FUNNY TO STOP"

Thank you, in any case. :3

My only problem with the drunken madness was that emotes were flying so fast I couldn't even keep up with them.

As for Voragh, I always saw him as a guy whose a product of the Old Horde ways. I'd give more feedback, but I think everyone else has hit the issues well.

I do like his relationship with Gantrithor. It isn't quite antagonistic, but they aren't BROS either. They somehow have a weird respect for each other even though by all means they should want to (and probably will try to once Kidnapped is over) kill each other.

I'd like to give this a bump. Still hungry for foodbuck. My characters are in my sig as per usual and I'm always looking to improve my RP style, but I'd also like to hear what you guys make of my forum presence, how I'm handling being an FH, my OOC behaviour, my DMing and guild leadership . . . yeah pretty much everything. xD

Be as scathing or direct as you like so long as you give me something to work with. Thanks.

As a fan of all of your RP work, I'm biased, HOWEVER:

Might I just say how impressed I am with Orthander so far? "I'm gonna make a Templar who's taken an Oath of Silence. Easy!" Sure, okay. But you did it! I cannot speak on how he is without "his voice", but you utilize the silence, subtle nonverbal body shifting, and subtle contact to get him across. It's wonderful. :)

You found the challenge and you took it.

OOC and Forum behavior is a check-plus or whatever. It's always a pleasure to chat with you. And clad as you are in the vestments of the FH you're doing a good job, I'd say!

I can agree with Cara that you portrayed his actions very well. It was really enjoyable to poke fun at Illumination bunch. ^.^

One thing that we must address, my good sir, is how many events are done and in how good a timely manner. But we're working on that. So we're good.. for now. :D

I like how you strike a nice balance between having a laugh and being serious about your play (and now, GMhood.) While I haven't really RPed with your characters much (enough), I've liked what I've seen and Quintric is probably my favourite character on the server. Probably. I haven't got to RP with Jared and the Black Harvest yet
Spoiler:

but I've heard mainly good things and having a guild that big must mean something good about what you do!

I'd like to RP some more, but otherwise it's all good so far!

Damn northerner.

Hello, hello!

I'd like to thank everyone for their feedback so far, but of late in particular I've been pursued by this nagging feeling that there's something, somewhere, out of the corner of my eye, that I'm doing horribly wrong. Possibly many things, and possibly per several different definitions of 'horribly', but I don't know.

Either way, I'd like to extend another feedback request. All my characters of significance (barring Serethe, coleader of the Karazhan Concordat, who I still need to profile) are listed in my signature, and if you have any comments as to how I'm playing any of them, it would be beyond appreciated. Specifically, I'd like some feedback on my main dude, Executor Jared Richter, because I've recently started to wonder how well executed (heh) he is as a character. Does he feel like . . . well, a good character, or is he just that loud voice shouting about Lordaeron? I say this because I've been playing him more than ever of late and he's had some really interesting development, but I'm curious as to what other people make of him. And I have my doubts. So, if anyone has any thoughts re: Richter, that'd be superb.
(How do you guys think I'm adjusting to the roles and responsibilities of being green, on a relevant note? Am I doin it rite?)
But yeah. Generally? If you have anything to say about anything I do here on CotH, please, I'd like to hear it.

Having watched Jared develop side-by-side with Maeia, I must say I really like how he's come along from my first RPs with him! At least in my experience, he's gone from a humble servant of the Dark Lady, to a very strong-headed leader of a large group, and now we see the transition from a mere brute with a small army to CHAMPION OF THE DARK, which I am REALLY excited to see happen. Jared is learning not just tactics and warfare, but also charisma and the spiritual aspect of leadership. I really REALLY like how he's becoming this dark counterpart to a Silver Hand paladin, and I especially look forward to the conflict that will arise between him and Cristovao because of it!

I mean, he IS a loud voice shouting FOR LORDAEROOOON, but beneath that boistrous patriotism is a very sublime mind who is contemplating his role in the grand scheme of things.

I haven't really been up to much recently due to uni, but I'd be interested in getting some feedback on the Hallowed Masque and any of the smaller events I've run recently, as well as my general behaviour, conduct, etcetera.

Bump!

Typing this on my tablet so it'll be short. Just wanted to give props for Voragh's spiritual development. Now where's the feedback you never gave me?

Voragh and Gantrithor need to go on a soul-finding adventure.

WHERE THEY PICK UP BABES

Castor can come too.
