Telekinesis Motha F- Can I do it!?
#16
The weapons are used in the boss fight. You have to fight the weapons and then you can pick them up and use them for yourself. They're of the legendary quality (see: not an ordinary weapon.) I'm of the opinion that you can charge a weapon with arcane and then manipulate it that way, but don't get too fancy because it can get difficult.

Zariel walks into the office parched, sweat dripping down his cheeks. He extends an arm as it glows with an arcane glow, the same glow surrounds a glass of water. It shakily lifts and hovers to him.

Zariel is knocked back by the diver dood, his head bounces against the wall. He crackles with arcane as broken tiles around him glow and fly at the diving helmet.

Also could one put the same enchantment that is on a flying carpet, on other things?

understand if the answer for the first question is neither. But a guy gotta know.

And Not necessarily the flying carpet enchantment, but an enchantment to move objects. And do they have to inanimate objects?

As Flammos said, and from all my experiences from the guild Aula Arcanum, and everything I've learned ic and oocly through those participating there as teachers.

All of those things you listed should be possible.

This item I believe is also a good example. As I've had this explained as a mage icly having these spin around his head. The same way they'd launch an ice cube at someone is the same way they'd launch one of the floating rocks at someone. (ICly the tourmaline gems were suggested to be rocks)

I actually don't have a problem with the listed examples (though I will quickly point out that I am not the best person to ask when it comes to magic), though I'll stress that anything like this would most likely be quite visibly traceable to the mage.

Regarding enchanting inanimate objects into use as mounts and the like I believe that would be more of an enchantment prepared before the fact? In the case of flying brooms and carpets and stuff. Just chucking things with MAGIKS probably does not require the same amount of preparation.

...Actually, now that I think of it I think I once made an IC post where a guy was ruminating on these things. As one final note I'd point out that when doing this I think a mage is restricted to their own capacity of strength; as in a mage couldn't levitate a siege tank and send it flying at someone; I imagine that they can only manipulate something they themselves would be physically capable of picking up, weight wise.

I always thought mages could lift minor things with arcane, such as books, glasses, pens and so forth. If they can do anymore, I'm not sure at all.

If we are allowed to do more...

I've always followed that lifting a rock with telekinesis would bare the same exhaustion mental-wise as it would have on your body. This way people aren't going around lifting houses and dropping them on people because of the amount of energy it would take to do so, but would allow them to lift things like boulders.

Granted, that's just my take on it.

From what I have gathered from my time in the game is that there is no such thing as psionic abilities as defined in Forgotten Realms (power of the mind). Only priests powers are taken from within the mind according to some.

What appears in game as telekinesis are things I have always thought of as magic. -Enchanted- brooms or lanters that fly or enchanted books which the mage can call upon and dismiss with magic.

Flammos list are good examples on how magic can appear as telekinesis, but are credited to magic and not power of the mind.

No telekinesis for players.

You may use magic though.
