Earthen Ring DMing stuff.

Ho there!

As your slave helper in today's event, I got a good look behind the scenes about where the plot's going, and... I like the direction you're carrying it in.

I went ahead and said the following in another group right after it:
[10:08:25 AM] Delta: Huh. Muhaha8 is actually a pretty good DM.

...I noticed you'd taken elements from other events you've recently participated in. You covered their flaws and added in a bit of your own style, and it went pretty well.

I think that the elementals could've gone down a bit easier with people rolling as awfully as they did (as happens when you rely on luck), and the 'big bag boiling brute' encounter could've been trimmed a bit, but that's trivial stuff in the grand scheme of things. I just noticed I'd been flying around your heads for quite a while before I was called on to puppet again.

As c0rzilla said, a little bit of puzzle and exploration wouldn't go amiss. I know it's hard as heck to devise that sort of stuff when you've got a moderately-sized raid, but trial and error is the way to go.

I do wish to be in the next event, and I will also offer my aid for it, too. Keep it up!

Thank you, both for your feedback and your assistance, Delta!

As I've said, my combat system's heavily in-progress, as I try to refine what works best for me. I'm trying to better balance the height of the thresholds with the difficulty of the mobs, and I'll begin to actively apply varying thresholds based upon how poorly (or amazingly) the group is rolling.

Puzzles, exploration, and all-around sneaky things are in-bound! I'm considering shrinking the size of some of my events to better allow for stuff like that (large groups -can- be a hassle for puzzle gaming).

I'd be glad to have you participate directly in the events, instead of just play behind-the-scenes!

I am not sure how to say it. But the whole event felt a bit rushed for me. Maybe it is just me, but I sometimes had barely time to think how to emote my char's actions, before I had to make the next one.
I know I probably need rather long to think at those moments. But sometimes it just continued too quick. On the other hand, if the time is too long, everyone gets bored. It is rather difficult to get the right timing, I guess. Probably it is even impossible to get a timing so it fits for everyone.

All in all, I had fun during the event again. I totally forgot how late it was for me and wasn't tired at all during it.

I had to go AFK and take a shower in the middle of the event, but it was fun. It took some time for me to understand the scene after we got back to the camp, but after I realized what that note meant, I was like... "Oh gosh, they just had the most freakin' awesome idea they could have had."

Oh, if you accept a lil' suggestion, what if we have an event in which we divide in small search groups (like three persons on each group) and try to find clues about Torok's whereabouts?
...Just a suggestion. You probably have something else in mind.

Well, all the events until now are being simply epic, so keep like that, dudes! Go like shooting stars leaping through the skies! o/

I'm glad y'all had fun!

I'm currently mulling over ideas for the next event, as we speak. I'll definitely keep that in mind, Phil!

I have fun at the events bro and truthfully the only thing that could really make them better is the social bit. It isn't so much about how many enemies you kill but how you do it. I'll use the Dream Distortion event for last night as an example, there were only like...five enemies or so but there was that bit of puzzle that promoted discussion and disagreement among the group. You've said puzzle stuff is coming so this feedback will probably be void in a few weeks.

With the close of the next event, I request further feedback! I made an attempt (although I don't know how well it turned out) to take the event away from just roll and hit, and provided a few paths that players could've traveled.

So yeah, feedback!

The event itself was great, and you did provide the choices. But to be fair, offering the choices doesn't do much if your hinting on what they should do next. Otherwise, I always enjoy hacking and slashing myself, and the sneaky sneaky parts were rather impressive, the idea is good and I believe it may just circle around the server as a new addition to events with the like.

-Edit-

Although, I would have it so a low enough roll would cause the people to be discovered. Maybe not right off the bat, like someone trips (Daichi on the first roll. Durn kid got a 1) and causes a noise that a guard goes to investigate. Just a thought, but otherwise I love chur DMing style ^^

Let's hope!

... I did do that, didn't I? My apologies for that one!

A good one, at that! I'll be planning some similar events down the line, and I'll keep that in mind.

Alright... I have to say that this event was much more enjoyable for me than the other two. Probably it was because there was hardly any OOC chatter and it was easier to stay in the whole story.
Thanks for giving me time to write an action before continuing with the next attack/story.

All in all, a very enjoyable event. I hope I can attend the coming ones as well.

Next event has concluded! Non-combat, woohoo! My first puzzle event, as well, so I want feedback on how I handled that, and what I could do better, and whatnot. What y'all enjoyed, and what y'all didn't.

Ya dun good. But for the sake of time, you may want to toss in a few dings or something close to it when one gets a piece right. But otherwise, ya dun good.

... That ran on much longer than I intended! I do plan more of those on occasion, among other things, so perhaps my puzzle skills will grow.

Aww... now I won't be haunted by muhaha8 anymore... :(

It definitely was worth staying up that late for the event. Sadly we lost some hints when we were trapped and couldn't solve the riddle because of that. Thanks for not letting us all drown in the end ;)

Maybe next time you hold an riddle event again, say at the beginning that hints could be told through whisper. Just to prevent loosing some hints again like it happened.

Yeah... That did prove an issue! I tried to be as hands-off as I felt comfortable being, but perhaps it was a tad too hands-off? I'll keep that in mind, though, about the PMs! The point of that was me limiting knowledge to those who stumbled across it, then leaving it up to them to spread about.
