Earthen Ring DMing stuff.

So yeah. First event went down within the past hour and a half! For those who were there, tell me what you think and such.

This will also be used for future events, so keep an eye out!

Fun, basic introductory event. I love the threshold system.

Do you have a larger storyline planned out? I would advise more of an introduction to happenings rather than Ooga-booga mad fire elementals. They're always mad. Perhaps the drying up of an oasis would be interesting.

Awesome.

Having Kol'gorm there was really great, because he had stuff with the fire elementals some years ago and now that he faced them in battle once again, all that hatred inside him is back.

The ending was quite the epic thing as well, that huge elemental exploding like Mannoroth when he was killed by Grommash. Kage and c0r fought great there, huh!

Kol'gorm Flametamer at your service, using fire vs. fire, sir!

This covers that!

Phil: Ehehehe. T'was fun for me!

Ohhai. Sorry I missed the end of it D: But I thought chu did rather well ^^ I look forward to Daichi delving deeper into this storyline. But raging fire isn't new, kinda like what Cor wrote. Perhaps a raging water element instead? You know, angry water element threatens to drown a beach?

Mm. It was an introductory event, so I never really had the intention of going all-out with the wacky ideas that fill my head!

It was my first time joining an event like that. And it was more or less my first time actively being involved in a fight. Half of the time I was just confused and busy with reading. But it got better in the end.

Alright... feedback..

I think the combat used was good in this case, as rolling on both sides would make it too difficult and confusing.

It would have been nice if it didn't shatter right after the fight, but it seems like everyone had to leave for one reason or another.

All in all I had a lot of fun in the end when I wasn't as confused as in the beginning.

With the close of the next event in the line, I require feedback! Was the ending lukewarm enough? Did the victory not feel so victorious, as was originally expected?

Ending was good! Orvisha is maaaad. I'm mad at my rolls. I'd like some puzzle solving and exploration at some point, rather than just slaughtering elementals.

My big problem is the silliness of certain participants. It just...doesn't fit with what's going on to me. This is a preview of Cataclysm (not that we ICly know that). There have been big warnings we've heard about stuff going down with the Elements. I'd appreciate it if that was kept in mind, and people toned down the modern, street-smart "badass"...stuff.

Don't worry, I had to get them hack'n'slash stuff out of the way first. I've got more specials planned for next week's event.

Whilst I witnessed this, I'd like to keep the focus away from it (after all, this -is- a feedback thread focused on the events themselves). I'll take into account measures next time to (hopefully) prevent some of the silliness.

Is earthen ring closed now or can people join the events/guild still? I know myself as well as a few other Orkies would love the RP lol. If it's closed though no worries :)

It's always open, both guild and events! However, recruitment will be somewhat difficult for a little while (see the recap in the event thread for details there.)

I enjoyed both the event itself (things went by pretty smooth!) as well as the cliffhanger ending! All in all, you be a very capable DM and I look forward to where the story goes!
