As another update, considering I placed the order at the weekend, I presume the items will be arriving on Tuesday. I've already gotten a tracking number but it won't show anything until this evening. My presumption is that it'll be shipped Monday and arrive Tuesday. After I put everything together, I'll have the joy of discovering whether or not the abrupt shutdown damaged any of my HDDs -_-.

I can luckily say all of my forced/unexpected shutdowns have yet to damage my HDDs. With the newer interface styles, it's a lot harder to crash an HDD with a sudden shutdown. Hopefully. Hopefully...

I think worst that could happen would be corrupted data and you'd have to format and reinstall your OS. But hey, you were looking to put in Linux, right?

As another update, the item listing associated with the tracking number that I got emailed today (that I mentioned earlier) seems to be missing the case. It may be possible that the case itself could be shipped later, but I suppose I'll find out tomorrow after the status updates on the site itself.

The case is indeed shipping separately - I should have everything by tomorrow! The only downside is that I work in the afternoon to evening. Even if I don't have everything put together and ready then, I'll be off on Wednesday so will therefore have the day to assemble the server and get it in working order (assuming no disasters happen and nothing arrives DoA).

So, I did not receive anything today. I should theoretically receive everything tomorrow! As a reminder, I have to head to work at 5pm so I'll have a bit of time to put things together (assuming the packages arrive in the early afternoon). Once I get home from work, I can continue with whatever else needs to get done.
Again, this is assuming nothing arrives DoA and all components work properly!
