Tanaris humans?
#31
Isn't it a little bit silly to go claiming that the GMs are being pricks for saying 'no' to this? Even by the admission of those arguing for it, the evidence that this is even possible is very lacking.

The most solid lore we have on this is WC3, which essentially stated that if there were humans living on Kalimdor before WC3's events, the humans from the Eastern Kingdoms didn't know about it. This means that there are two possibilities: One, the wastewanderers are simply bandits that decided to inhabit Tanaris and made their own unique culture from there; or two, there were always humans down there (and the Nelves neglected to mention them) from some uncertain point in history. Of the two options, I find the former more likely, but since we can't rule out either one, I'd rather just not touch the subject at all. That's not to say that wastewanderers are a null subject, but the way it was being gone about in the past didn't sit well with me. Making up lore for an existing group in WoW seems counter to the idea of the server, which is to remain true to canon lore. Also, tribal humans seem rather odd when you could just play a Horde race.

As far as the "Caliph" thing goes, you need to learn to take these things with a grain of salt. In Cataclysm, we have a goblin talking with a ridiculous german accent while sending troopers off to find artifacts in a desert. Does this mean that there's an island somewhere on Azeroth with Nazi goblins? Sometimes Blizzard does things for the sake of coolness, fitting the themes of the area, or for humor, rather than trying to tell us something about canon lore.
Have you hugged an orc today?
