Router connectivity issues
#1
For some reason I've noticed that my laptop has been having rather annoying spasms of 'connectivity issues'. It does this at random times of the day, and for some odd reason it just randomly spasms out and disconnects me from my internet. To note, this is even with the minimal things happening - one page of youtube, the CotH forums, Skype, and WoW are the only things open and even now it's spasming in and out of connectivity. I've somewhat guessed that it is some issue with the router, but whenever I go into the router room to investigate, all the wires are in the right slots, I've even fastened them in to be sure. The lights blink perfectly in indication that it's perfectly connected, and yet... It's like my laptop is cursed. At my table there are three laptops normally; my dad's, mom's, and mine. For some odd reason the connectivity issues only target my laptop. The only location difference is that I'm at the end of the long table with my dad and mom's laptops to my left and right respectively. There seems to be the same exact obstacles between my laptop, my parents laptops, and the router room, and yet my laptop is the only one targeted with these 'connectivity issues'.

I dunno. Anyone know a solution to this problem? The router is completely plugged in and flashing green across the board, so it's not the router itself.

Check out this link: Windows Randomly Disconnects from Wireless Network Solution. There are also specific details/instructions for Windows 7.

We ran into issues with this at my last job. Building services was not allowed to place jacks in the conference room in which I worked, so everyone in that room had to rely on wireless. We all ended up periodically being booted from the system -- often multiple times in an hour.

I'd also check your system event logs to confirm that it is this issue. If not, it may even give you more insight.
