Never use the launcher. Just use Wow.exe.

H'okay, sir! It sounds like you probably had an earlier install in there somewhere. It's the only reason I could imagine that you'd have a fully patched game available to you. Unfortunately, Cataclysm removed our ability to downpatch, which used to be our default option in the past.

In the future, you can have multiple copies of the game installed. I used to maintain two, which would allow me to play both here and on retail.

I discovered that the hard way, and I'm downloading the stand alone now. I had to step away from my computer for a little while, as tonight I will be displaying some fireworks, illegally of course. That's the best way. I'm on my iPad btw so I will still be able to respond to any suggestion or people telling me what to do.

I downloaded the stand alone file, and I changed the realmlist from MoltenWoW to CotH. I clicked Wow.exe to make sure it'd work and it went to the good old Wrath of the Lich King cinematic, and then brought me to the sign in screen. Didn't type a thing, just quit out of it. All of the files such as the WTF file, logs, and the cache are now in my WoW area place. Hope I did everything alright.
