You likely only know me as Nuadon from that one RP in Ashenvale where Jakodus was running around screaming.

I still contend that that behavior is exceedingly un-draenic. I recall attempting to (hopefully gently) advise you on proper draenic behavior, and you insisted his anger warranted his acting like a teenager that just learned curse words.

That is not the behavior of a millenia-old vindicator that is a member of a race known for their self-control and nobility (a la your forum name).

How might this be "fixed" or "changed"?

Control. You don't need to RP your vindicator as a stoic rock, void of the spark of emotion. But, remember: no one that was elected to train as a vindicator in that kind of pristine society is going to erupt into an outburst where their vocabulary degenerates into: MOTHER F-$%@#^ FU-%&#$%#%#$% GOD DA-%^$#$. A more appropriate outburst might be "Naaru save me before I crush these savages under my warhammer!" or "Gah! My leg! When I arise you will know the Light's fury!".

Another thing to note is that draenei take being hosts and guests very seriously. It's also been said they even ceremoniously wash their hands. A culture that does that would not want to taint the long-ears of their neighbors with foul language.

I will say his bossing of Anthrion was interesting, even if we did ICly scoff at it. While Jakodus himself isn't too much older than any of our night elves, as a culture, I can see the draenei thinking they know war and the Legion better than any on Azeroth.

Hello, Noble! Me again, this time on Orvisha.

It's been a while since we've seen each other, our most recent encounter in the latest Draenic Pilgrimage event. I haven't been RPing with you at all apart from that, so I cannot speak too much on "progress". But--ehn. You're still having trouble, I think.

My main issue is that Jakodus is about 25,000 years old according to his TRP2 and, in behavior, comes across as a 25 year old frat boy that doesn't want to grow up.

He seems to toss out this strange, odd one liners like...during the event, basically giving a warning like they do on amusement park rides. Don't do X if you're pregnant, blah blah.

When he fell down due to the weight of his armor and couldn't easily rise--good on that, by the way, too many plate armor ninjas--he...was just plain goofy. The situation in and of itself was funny, but portraying a 25,000 year old Argus-born draenei as a silly fallen turtle that's going ewwww about squished orc on his armor is--...very strange.

I think you would do well to ponder on how different such an old being would act and feel about things. It's hard to tell a player "just do X and you fit the age mark", but it does take some thought.

He was merely showing concern to the others in the group and warning them that they could be seriously injured providing they have any physical difficulties (Although not saying it in the most sensitive way)

A bit more on his mannerisms, its essentially a way of dealing with the situation, by acting young and childish, while I agree with you a 25,000 year old being should of grown up by that age, he essentially stopped aging at a point, the very moment he resorted to alcohol use, and has since then, in both his sober and drunken states, acted as well...what you saw. (Please note this is not refferencing any disorders or mental difficulties, I don't wanna adventure in that area at the risk of offending someone.)
Please note this is just that particular side of him, there is indeed a mature and aged spirit in Jakodus, it just hasn't been shown yet.

Bump, I'm kind of nervous on this one, but the only person I've RP'd on recently has been Telendrin.

For me (Sudeth if you didn't know already) personally, I'm not really sure what to make of Telendrin. I want to call him an angsty blood elf who only serves his master but that's probably because I haven't read any of his back story yet to understand why he's like that. But from what I've seen he's a pretty decent character, only fault I could see is his personality could get his allies to turn on him :>.

My Opinion on Telendrin.

I like you as a role player, but there are a bit of kinks. Now honestly I think most of it is because your new, and are trying to get accoustomed to the lore and the server. Which honestly is a pretty strict ( in some cases ) environments. At least on how to portray a char. But issues, I have. Telendrin bounces back and forth from being a believable character who has his own mission and aspirations, until he gets mad and goes on a temper tantrum with players he doesn't like. Using curse words in pretty immersion breaking ways, ( I.E. Abundant, and modern usage ) My biggest issue with Telendrin or your portrayal of him is this inability to decide what to keep a secret or not. I think every time Vivalyn has told him something to keep quiet. He ends up telling. She asked to Remain annonymous and Tel called her by name in the open. The Ridaken ICly would've kept a low profile, Telendrin did not and openly affiliated himself with them. The list goes on. It isn't -bad- because thats how Telendrin is....But it does make it difficult to believe that he's the competent shady planner when he can't keep a simple secret.

OOCly I think you're nice, but you can be rude as hell sometimes and inconsiderate. ( So can I, and I was almost banned for it ) Just so you know I'm not trying to be holier than thou or trying to change your opinion of your own RP. Because honestly you're pretty nice to me, but at first I was taken back by some things you said, and I see your same snarky remarks made in OOC and Raid that rub people the wrong way. Someone said it the best you just need to grow, I make mistakes all the time. Some in my own storyline but I just have to go with it. And thats what I've done with our RP is just "Go With it" and you have honestly sparked such a -fun- storyline simply because you are you. Telendrin getting caught, and spilling the beans as usual turned into The Ridaken being hunted, and Viv's plan. Which linked us to the Red Rose, sliding some fun and drama their way, and the Blood Knights someone to hunt! And Magisters something to look out for, a very interesting stir in silvermoon society. I heard about Telendrin's name on quite a few alts who don't even know him. Its very difficult to make an impact even if you're on every day and plan events.

In short. -Please- keep in mind how you deal with people ICly and OOCly because it rubs people the wrong way and impressions are hard to shake. I know a few people who have don't care for me because of things I've done months/years ago.

Also think about your actions, "Would this person do this?" and why? or Why not.
If this person wanted seriously to be trusted and appreciated, would he continue to make childish insults, and counter-productive comments or actions? In one of the podcasts I made I give referrence to Sol and Cressy as I RPed with them all the time and learned how to interact and RP on the Warcraft medium. My biggest suggestion for any newcomer is to watch those who you enjoy or are good at RP and see what actions they do and how they define a character, how they emote and things like that. You don't want to 'copy' but you need to observe walking before you can attempt to do it.

I'm glad I could help even if in the least, a lot of these things I could've said to myself so its a learning experience everyone is different and all have different preferences, Some prefer action adventure, some prefer romance, others strictly comedic and light hearted RP to only dramatic serious life changing RP. I hope we continue to RP in the future.

Although the significance of this might of been a little exaggerated by a few people, anyway the Blood Knights weren't neccessarily all in agreement with the "hunt down Telendrin" matter, a few weren't even aware of it, its more of a personal-dispute/Self-justified prosecution (Of course the nature of this might be controversial) Furthering my point, Telendrin told Vivalyn a few members of the Ridaken may of even played a role in their own demise.

But I agree with you, I can indeed be rather rude, childish or a number of things, the only thing I can hope for is that those who don't get along with me quite well, to perhaps change their opinion of me, whats appears to be on the surface isn't in the core.

The one and only incident was in the Monastery. I was not there for a lot of it, and the incident was a two way thing. Some people were going a little to far as were you. I do not recall it specifically, but I do remember people being upset. Hmm. Maybe I am remembering wrong, and if I am, please tell me. I'd hate to say that and be wrong.
