Some cats are harder than others to capture. Some cats I don't need to worry about catching because they're smart and stay out of the road. Others just hang out on my deck and so I always see them. This is not the case for Howler.

Howler has been my target for the better part of a month now. She's...not smart enough to stay out of traffic. In fact, she's had injuries from being hit about three times now and has been kicked by the neighborhood brats so many times it's not even funny. She was abandoned by her owners who live right behind us. They even tossed all her toys in the trash when they decided they no longer wanted her. Me, being me, has been trying to catch her before she goes feral and so her injuries can finally heal fully. I thought I'd never get her because she knows about cages, so she didn't ever go in the one I'd put food in.

Finally today I saw she was injured again...too injured to run. I brought cat food out, fed all the cats. I managed to get my hand on her twice, but she'd jerk away. I normally don't just grab these cats because it spookes them and I end up getting hurt in the process. Seeing how injured Howler was, I kicked caution to the curb, reached out and grabbed her by the scruff. Lucky for me, I hit spot on and she didn't fight me. I put her in the cage and can now prepare my bathroom to house another cat to heal.

She's absolutely beautiful too. She has three different patterns on her. Your classic calico pattern, a tiger pattern and a spotted pattern. Once she's healed up and re-tamed, she's going to get a home in no-time flat.

Just thought I'd update you and let ya'll know I'm still going at it.

Reigen, what you are doing has touched my heart. You are living my dream right now lol. Although I can't adopt a pet right now, rest assured I will help in my area as well when I get my own house! I hope you find trustworthy owners!

I wish you luck once you're able to start helping out as well! When you do start out and you have any questions, let me know and I'll do my best to help out. Most of all when it comes to taking care of babies! I have two litters on my way from pregnant cats in my area. I plan on trying to catch them once they reach 3-4 weeks. Its an adorable job, but goodness does it keep you up at night dealing with needy kittens!

Updated the first post with two more cats. One is of Neko, a shelter adopted cat, and the other of Eljun who has a pretty amazing recovery to be worthy of his name.

Here's a couple bonus pictures of Eljun and Dusty! [They were already fed before the picture was taken, greedy cats wanted more!]

So, good news: Spencer and another cat, Fluffy, have collars around them now. Seems someone decided to adopt them, which is good.

Bad news: Dusty is really sick. His blind eye is glazing over, leaking nasty fluids and he just looks as dirty as when I found him. I can't afford to take him to a vet to get him looked at. I also am worried whatever he has, might spread to the others. I really need a larger cage so I can quarantine him and monitor his progress. If he gets any worse and it's noticeable, I might have to take him to have him put down if it looks like he's suffering.

He already can't eat hard food, his teeth have gone bad. I hope he's just caught a kitty-cold, but if its distemper, or feline leukemia, then it could spread to others and I can't have that. It might also just be that he is an old cat. He could be 15 years old and I'd never know it.

As quoted by mouse: "Some people catch Pokemon in tall grass. Reigen catches kittens in tall grass."

One down, one to go.

Edit: It's a little boy.

So I have to admit this is one of the fastest tames I've ever had. The kitten has fully lost all his feral behavior in the span of two and a half days. The two before this game too young to be feral, so they don't really count. There has been no sign of his sibling since his capture and I think that his mother moved the other kitten. Still, getting at least one cat off the street is a victory for me.

So some general info:

Name: Rytlock
Age: 5 weeks
Gender: Male
Coloring: Black Fur, white spot on chest, blue eyes.
Litter-box trained, already eating hard catfood and water over milk.
No signs of inbreeding noticed. Looks healthy as can be.
Thick, healthy coat of fur.
Dog and Cat friendly.

Despite being named after Rytlock Brimstone, Rytlock the kitten is just hands down adorable. He is a cuddle-bug and often has a hard time deciding if he wants to eat, play or be petted. He purrs when he sees someone enter his room and knows he's going to be played with and petted. His weak spots are his left ear and his chin. He also likes to roll on his back, squiggle around and attack your fingers with his itty-bitty claws.

He's also starting to learn how to climb up pants and legs. Oh joy. He's not afraid of our golden retriever and even attacked her tail. I sense that this one is going to be a lover and will make an amazing lapcat for someone.

I don't mind getting up at 6am in the morning for him. :P

*eyeballs vomit rainbows*

adorable... our cat was playing with my earplugs in their case the other day. Made a rattling noise when I dropped it while messing around with my kit, and it flipped out, chased it clear across the room. Damn funniest thing I ever saw...

We got her this new thing, doesn't work for a damn, but when I manually use it, the cat just goes crazy over it. I completely forget what it is, but it's this automated... thing it can chase. Cat's meow I think? anyways I like that it's broke, fun to watch the cat go nuts over it.
