Occupying a village?
#16
Personally I would love to ask you something.

You're saying you'd love to ''take over'' such place, you have a guild yes and your guild is orientated towards that kind of RP. However I'd like to ask if it is -really- worth it, The Red Rose seems to be very inactive as it is and I am unsure how could one pull out enough units for an assault in the first place, not a big fan of using NPC armies to take over stuff for an inactive guild, but that's personal opinion as I've seen it done before. However let's say your guild achieves the village, will it make the guild more active? Will it bring members to the said guild? Can you at least provide with some info of your plans with the village -after- you take over it? You've shown to be very interested in leading a guild but in the same time you have many ideas in general always thinking about doing this or that which would probably cripple you and maybe rend you unable to lead the guild properly if you keep on this pace however if this gets the Game Master okay then I see no problem with it whatsoever. However if this actually happens a GM should at least watch how the event will unfold to make sure everything goes smooth. A simple grunt opinion and question. So is it truly worth it?

P.S: I am unsure if you're joking about the destroying or if you're serious. I personally hope you aren't serious.
P.S 2: Taking over a village and remaining a secret? I don't think that's really possible.

Please pardon possible wording/grammar mistake, rather tired.

Totally relevant: Post 300, woo!

You have a point Sorum, it won't actually be worth much, but still,
It's actually possible to take over a village/Destroy it and keep it a secret, a real life example of this is Roanoke.
But still, your best choice Ormica is try a neutral village, and something that's rarely used and or rarely receives RPers to it, that way it'll prevent argeuments and such, or just take an otherwise unoccupied area and have a few GMs set up NPCs, or RP the NPCs being there.

Apologies for my English, I'm tired as well, haven't slept in a day.
Hand me some feedback!

All I know is that first, you’ve got to get mad.

As for 'taking over' an area. Rigley has built so many areas, some without NPCs, that can be used for anyone to 'take over' so long as they were there first. Remember, no one can claim an area, but you can set the stage for what an NPC free area is so long as others are warned before entering the RP.

I never ment to say take over, at least for a long time, as said before, HIT AND RUN, plus I've asked this in private to see the GM reaction. I Also said before, I -would- not pick a place with lore or a lot of RP :P The hit and run wouldn't last forever and the Red Rose is still more or less active, I just space out events >:|

I'm sorry if any of this sounds snarky or pointed, but I've tried to address all points given and it's getting tiring :P This may sound mean, but I think it needs to be said: Please don't put up redundat posts, I've answered most, if not all, posts and will continue to do so. I just don't want to answer the same post agian and agian but in different wording. (Agian I'm truely sorry to be mean and such, but RL was lost all my patience :P)

I reread that and it makes me feel bad about being mean D: Sorry if you found any of this mean, I'm not here to hurt feeling, just bodies :D

Well, if you and your bros want to Occupy first you need to make sure you have the following:
-Tents
-Bullhorns
-Willpower
-Be ok with not showering
-food
-Some kind of mission statement
-makeshift barricades
-plenty of signs
-beer
-a website (you are going to need more people [at least 200] to show up otherwise law enforcement will kick you out real fast)
-a lot of tolerance
-a good eye for undercovers

This comes from personal experience of occupying an area.
Pain is an illusion.

Then what's the point of this thread if you don't wanna occupy anything? In order to siege a village you need to well in big words.. set camp all around it and wait. Or you can just naruto charge in and probably get tons of casualties, still no idea where you will pull the army from.

I think you're rather confused with what SpiralLateralus said, he/she gave you a list of what you need to occupy the said village or whatever you got in mind.

Well, I am bringing this up with GMs atm so whatever it is I do, It'll probably be small, but I would like to point out that, even Sen'Jin village (Yes I can't spell) is small enough to be wipped out by a force of 20 well trained warriors :P I'm talking about a village even smaller then that.

Sen'jin village would actually be a lot bigger than what it appears to be in-game. Considering it's the village that Vol'jin set up after they fled from Echo Isles, I would imagine it to have a lot more warriors and guards than it does ICly.

...oh wow I just noticed this thread wasn't in off topic so I read the first post. I just immediately made that without reading any posts I thought this was about the occupy movement.

Whelp since no one else made the joke yet.

But really, occupying a village would need a lot of man power and a lot more man hours. A small group of 8+ people can't take over a village by themselves.

Agian I'll say, not occupying >:| Hit and run, so please, I know occupying would be much to hard for a guild, even a big one.

Hit and run would still be a difficult task to do. The entire task has too much variables that would play into account such as the time of day, how much people you bring with you, how heavily geared you are(more gear=harder to get away as fast), and the amount of guards on duty at the time. Even a neutral city will have guards, perhaps even more in order to prevent either the Horde or Alliance from marching in and going 'lol yuo guiz are neutral so yuo join us now'. It really depends, what is the purpose of this hit and run? If they're going after supplies, a supply caravan might be a better choice because of less guards and the fact that they're on the move. A village can simply turtle up and repel the invaders if you bring too little manpower with you while raiding.
