The Holy Knightly Order of Hermann von Blankenberg

History:

The Knights of Blankenberg was founded by nonetheless Herman Blankenberg the Gallant, a paladin who once served in Order of the Silverhand before its devastation during the Third War. Its purpose after its foundation after the Third War was to crusade and eradicate the Scourge and reclaim stability within the fallen lands of Lordaeron. Evidently, the crusade failed miserably due to the various amount of foes they had encountered amongst their vain attempt to reclaim their homeland, most notably the Scourge, the Forsaken and even the Scarlet Crusade whom they had issues initiating diplomatic relations with.

After the failed crusade, the surviving members of the knightly order departed to Stormwind, either to replenish its numbers or to mourn the fallen. Many of its surviving members departed the Order to either settle down or move on elsewhere, few remained and for the time that followed the Order of Blankenberg remained silent.

Information:

The insignia of the Order is a gold Maltese cross, enameled in blue, with a gold-crowned palm between the arms of the cross.

The Knights of Blankenberg follow the teachings of the Church and its Three Virtues: Respect, Tenacity and Compassion. They are highly devout with their beliefs, to the point where they consider isolating from other cultures throughout Azeroth. Their mentality is Church over State, the Church's words for them is more important than that of the Monarch's.

The Knights of Blankenberg also use the standard chivalric code:

Duty to the People. This duty stresses courage, justice, mercy, valor, protection of the weak, and faithfulness to the church superiors of officer of righteous law.

Duty to the Church. This duty stresses obedience to the Archbishop himself, devotion to the church, generosity, championing good against evil, putting the needs of the church and the faith above all else.

Duty to a Lady. This duty pertains to the concept of courtly love, devotion to one's beloved, and respect towards all women in general.

For females, the term "Dame" is used instead of Knight.

Ranks:

Grand Master

The title of the supreme head of the holy order of knighthood. He is the one who leads the Order and the one who traditionally arranges the code of conducts for his knights and dames to follow.

Knight Commander

Throughout tradition, the Knight Commander is one of the most senior member of the Order. He holds the second highest rank within the Order and is often either leading the Knights during missions or recruiting new contenders.

Knights

The Knights of the Order range from either paladins or simple warriors. They bare three ranks which signifies their presence and experience within the order: Knight, Knight Lieutenant, Knight Champion and Knight Captain.

Clerics

The Clerics of the Order hold no true authority within, but their intention is either for morale, documentation, sacred rituals and the like. They aren't intended to head into the fields of battle, unless exceptions occur.


Squires

The Squire serves as the knight’s personal servant, taking care of his master's armor, equipment and mount. He is expected to follow his master into battle, attending to him if he fell in battle. In exchange for these services, the knight trains the squire in the use of arms, tactics, and the code of chivalry.
