Grimfist Battle Brothers
#1
Quote: I weep for my people.

It has been almost a decade since the last camp was liberated by the son of Durotan. Almost a decade since the last orc was freed from countless years of idle lethargy. In those camps we were treated as animals, tame beasts wallowing in lethargy that the humans pitied too much to slay. But we were still Horde, and we were still Orc. We were better off.

Now look at the Horde; Orc and Troll, Forsaken and Tauren, even elves lie under our banner. Elves! Elves whose forests we burnt to the ground! It is disgusting. We are more timid then ever, relying on our allies to fight for us, unable to wield our own strength. The son of Durotan even bargains with humans! He cares not for our traditions, or our desires. He begs with the humans day after day that they might spare the pathetic wreck he has created. The son of Durotan is a miserable dog, and he leads our proud people on a leash straight into destruction.

I am Orc. I live for battle. Honour is my shield, fury my sword. There is no honour in son of Durotan's "Horde". I cast away his shackles, that enslave us more completely then the internment camps ever could. I will set myself against the world. I will live forever in the nightmares of my foe. I will not rest until Azeroth once again knows the power of a true Orc. Let those with noble spirits and warrior hearts heed my call and stand by my side.
~ Ger’kash Grimfist

The Grimfist Battle Brothers

OOC Information

Spoiler:
The Grimfist Battle Brothers are a radical group of Orcs intent on displacing and defying Thrall while at the same time continuing to assault the Alliance in whatever meaningful way they can. They despite the son of Durotan and pity the rest of their race, seeing just how far they had fallen into weakness. Although they reject the new Horde, neither do they strive to be exactly like the old Horde, who relied on the blood and power of demons to fuel its war effort. In short, the guild is formed around one core principal; that orcs are capable of much more then they have shown, if only they would be given the chance, and that they have no need to rely on allies or greater powers. The guild rejects Thrall and the old Horde alike, although it has far more leniency towards the Old Horde then it does to the son of Durotan. In all honesty, they border along being an Old Horde group, however Ger'kash makes a point not to rely on demons.

Guild events will involve a lot of combat but that’s not to say every event will be a /roll fest. Events will also scale with guild membership; if the guild grows quickly then you can expect the guild to be more bold with its endeavours. As it is, you can expect skirmishes and campaigns against the Alliance and npc warbands alike, as well as acquiring supplies and a base of operations through less then ethical means.

Who can join?

Spoiler:
This guild is, unsurprisingly, orc only. Apart from having to agree with the guilds principals, a warrior is basically given a free ticket of entry. Hunters and anyone that uses a ranged weapon, including guns, is permitted. Medics, cooks and engineers are all allowed, and as for explosives and such the general rule is: If you make it, you can use it. Rogues and thief-like characters are also allowed.

Shamans are discriminated against, due to the ‘relying on a higher power’ factor and the fact that Thrall is a shaman. Who knows if the spirits are partially to blame for his weakness? However a shaman may be admitted if he or she possesses real vigor and the ability to fight without the spirits aid. Warlocks are tolerated only if they prove they can fight without using their powers. They are expressly forbidden to expose other members of the guild to their arts, via healthstone or otherwise. Death Knights and necromancers are allowed. Mages would be allowed as well, if orcs could make mages, since Ger’kash sees this more as the mage bending the arcane to his will rather than vice versa.

It is worth noting that between warlocks and shamans, the warlock has a much higher chance of being accepted.

Any orcish clan is allowed, although you can expect some negative or positive bias if you are Frostwolf or Blackrock respectively.

That’s all well and dandy, but how the heck am I meant to join?

Spoiler:
Joining ICly is a bit of a problem, since it’s not exactly something to run around advertising in Ogrimmar. Ultimately it is up to you to present some way of learning about the guild. Rumours of the guild would be spreading through the taverns of goblin cities, mostly Ratchet, started by Ger’kash himself. Alternatively you can just bump into him (or one of our other recruiters once they pop up) in-character, he can often be found brooding in the corner of a goblin tavern or travelling through the wilderness. Alternative suggestions are always welcome.

To join up OOCly just leave me a message.

Ranks
More specialised ranks will appear when the member count rises, but for now here is what we have.

Spoiler:
Warmaster: The guild leader. In charge of recruiting and keeping the guild morale and momentum going.

Veteran: These individuals have proven loyalty and strength of arms through trial after trial. They are truly devoted to the cause and fearsome to behold in combat. Their task is to lead their Battle Brothers and recruit more to the cause, but with great power comes great responsibility, and any lapse of judgement can be sorely punished.

Battle Brother: The rank and file members of the guild. They are the warriors, archers, scouts, spies and shieldbearers. Each of them is expected to be loyal and to trust in the better judgement of their Veteran’s, however their opinion cannot be discarded if they disagree with something. While it cannot be discarded, it can also be held against them.

Specialist: This is for those that are primarily non-combat. The cooks, medics, engineers, drummers and otherwise. They are still expected to know how to fight, and to do so if called upon. Warlocks are also thrown into this group unless they show truly outstanding combat prowess. Battle Brothers are instructed not to look down on these kin, for they are still Orc and still useful.

Sorry, no amazing fancy pictures or background, some of us aren't gifted with the ability to make a thread wonderful ;-;. Any questions? Go for it.

This is very, and I repeat, very interesting! I wonder how will you be able to succesfully pull this basically conflict guild, and the number of possibilities amazes me.

But before I go on and get all too excited, I want a question to be answered: Do you think my time fits with yours, and the guild's?

Sounds like Voragh. Smells like Voragh. Probably is Voragh.

If only he hadn't mellowed out a little through development. You might hear from me yet though, mim.

To Kira, I don't think it matters as I'll be hosting events whenever it's convenient for everyone, rather then myself. But in short yes your timezone is fine. :p

I love this guild! Have no time to make a character and join it, but I welcome some DW-GBB conflict, as Rowgen said. Get in touch with either of us! ♥

Doesn't even have to be all-out war! Tension at a gathering is badass, too. :D

Tension, fighting, subtle rumour spreading... it's all good. For those who don't want to be recruited through one-on-one roleplay, I'll be holding an event at 10am Thursday server time for mass recruitment.
