Pumpkin King
Hallow's end, Hallow's end.
Trick or treating with a friend.
Apple bob's, spicy drinks,
Tricks, treats, a week of jinks.
A group of adventurers found themselves,
In a tavern with drinks on the shelves.
Alcohol went around and a lot went in,
Into the humans with a grin.
But suddenly, a sizzle and crack,
Mages appeared, in the far back.
As soon as they came, as soon as they went,
Giving the Innkeeper great torment.
My rum! He shouted. Why is it gone?
He shouted and flailed, went on and on.
You three, hurry, go get it back!
Or my bruisers will give you a whack!
They looked at another, one eyebrow raised.
Let's do it for the rum, rum be praised!
And so they set out, one man on a horse.
Two in his caravan, which the elf could not endorse.
A bumpy ride, a shove and push.
The caravan was too small, it hurt her tush.
Eventually they found, what appeared to be.
A human masked Orc, ti ti dee dee.
Pockets emptied, the candy all gone.
He gave directions which weren't long.
Go north of here and you will find!
The jerk that stole my candy, he wasn't kind!
Further they headed, all the way north.
Suddenly surrounded, the drunk came forth.
Three went down without a fight.
Only to have the fourth, step into sight.
A quick chant later and a Squashling came,
He had a pumpkin head and knew no shame.
Ten feet tall with tree veins as arms,
He entrapped Avints and caused harm's.
Throwing him aside he moved on,
But he took a blow to the head, half the pumpkin was gone.
The ice-covered Mage, shouted out and grieved,
As Spike yanked the candle out his head, the plan achieved.
The Squashling turned to dust, the Mage had gone.
No sign of the rum, they shouted 'Come on!'.
All that remained was a candle and note,
The letter said, and I dare to quote.
No candy is safe with me around.
I'll drink all the rum, and be safe and sound.
You may have bested me but you will see.
Next Hallow's end, you'll need gutsy.
I shall return, and not alone.
I'll bring my friends, from my shadowy home.
Pumpkins shall rise and you will find,
They shall take over, all of mankind.
