Neutral Goblin City

Lemme know if you'd like me to PM you bits of the RP I mentioned previously, Rigley.

I think this would be a viable solution, actually. While I know it may be "immersion breaking" to have a portal linked to a "downtown Ratchet" area, it would do justice to the lore of the city. As c0r mentioned, we wouldn't have to worry about creating custom lore or backstory. We'd simply be realizing what's already been established about our (maybe just mine) favorite goblin-run city.

I think the pros of this option would outweigh the cons. Creating a whole "new" settlement, with creating a whole new mogul with a whole new industrial purpose, kinda seems off-putting, to me.

The "true" Ratchet has been something that I've been working with for awhile. It's something that's shaped a lot of my characters. And, to be honest, I've always wanted to see the sprawling industrial metropolis realized in-game. Considering that Ratchet is already an RP hotspot, I think it'd serve good purpose. People already frequent the area in-game, so adding a portal (or perhaps, maybe it could be like, some kind of trolly?) to a 'down town' area would make it even better.

The difficulty would be in nailing down the structure, and the culture of the city. I have a lot of ideas and thoughts about that, and if anyone wants to PM me about it, feel free.

...Hmm.

I'd be up to taking a try at it. Still speaking hypothetically as to if it would happen, but I'm interested in the idea.

To randomly add a comment, I would greatly like to see Ratchet added on to instead of having to have an entirely new place made. Hell, even if I don't really have too much RP happening in Ratchet, I think it'd be awesome. I just wish that Goldshire looked like it did in Alpha.. /sigh

This could be doable. I could create a GObject that uses a display specifically from the patch, so only those with it can see it and port to the area (Theoretically).

We tried that, remember? It didn't work. :c

Anyways... does this mean this is a go ahead? :B

Could always just add an anchorage onto Ratchet. It could be haunted by a long dead community of... uh. Greedy goblins.

No, Xigo.

It involves cliffs.

Construction is underway!

We're going to go with a set-up similar to Fuselight; basically that there are two settlements which are the same city, seperated by a method of travel. In this case, zeppelins.

While that may not be the ideal set up, I think it works best given what we were able to find for building spots; it makes it a bit less awkward as well from saying 'so let's go to that city that's right behind us but not'.

These two are what I was referring to.

Those of you running around the thousand needles will likely be able to see some of the work thus far, if you have the custom patch. Look around the change from where the main area is into the desert-like portion with the raceway. It'll be hard to miss!
