QQ

Quote:He's kind and open-minded, so much that he doesn't hold a prejudice against even the Orcs. Not to say this is a bad thing, but from reading his profile, he even went as far as to give up the Light, because of the Orcs, in a way.

Haaa, you just really need to RP with Gan more. His dislike of the orcs is complicated and hard to explain without experiencing it. The best way to describe it is he's "tolerant" of orcs. Not kind, and definitely not open-minded. Though I can see how this can be hard to understand given he bromances around Voragh and Orvisha all the damn time.

Quote:I'd simply say try and throw in some elements of his past which creep up on him and change him a bit socially. Especially now with Skin Thieves done, you could even add some fear lingering from that; Gantri's impression of himself is fearless, and knowing he is genuinely scared could create some inner turmoil which could really jump out in RP. Just a random idea.

Have been doing this, actually! It's one reason why I've thrown him into outland!

Quote:He's a Paladin with a strong creed and honour, but he isn't all "EVERYONE IS AWESOME AND DESERVES LOVE HERE HAVE SOME LIGHT POWER." Such as when he was asked to heal Jurok, that nub on the ground, and he avoided it. He didn't say "no lol gtfo" he just dodged it. I don't know if this was intentional, but I really liked this.

Actually, he was asked to pull Jurok out, but he felt the orcs were a more pressing, dangerous issue. He does dislike orcs, though, but if Telah chills with them, he trusts his judgement. But yeah, Cristovao tends to dodge around touchy issues, which is always fun for him. You should see him around Forsaken.

Quote:The others I can't remember enough to comment, but I think you're an awesome guy and often hilariously funny.

Thanks! If anything I do try to be funny.

AS FOR THIS...

Quote:I should post the logs of Gantrithor's recent emotional outburst to Orvisha.

Do it. Make an IC post, send a PM, make a public post, whatever. Do it! Let the world see how much of a jerk he is! :D

The whole 'I'M ON MY LAST LEGS' thing gets obnoxious when your character has been on his last legs for the last five times he's been struck. I get it, you like your characters being heroic. But please let them fail significantly more often. There is little more annoying than running an event when you have someone fighting to hog the spotlight and do everything heroic as much as possible.

Heroes fail sometimes.

Failure makes a hero more heroic. Victory brings nothing other than showboating.

You have an unwillingness to let your characters be injured/harmed unless it seems particularly heroic. The idea that they can be killed outside of a heroic moment seems foreign. I don't mind so much that you asked me to let Cristovao live after the whole thing with Flawless, but the event did have a character warning attached to it. Why would you put him in an event that has a character warning if you're not prepared for him to die?

Let your characters fail. Let them die for what they believe in. But don't think that their failures still have to be heroic. Let it be a crushing defeat, by all means. It'll just make their successes actually meaningful, instead of something worthy of rolling your eyes at.

Your characters are the equivalent of Superman. Their defeats are minor, and only serve as platforms to deliver EPIC COMEBACKS where they do amazing stuff.

Get away from the whole heroic/badass male thing. Just get away from it. Your writing abilities develop more when you're willing to step outside your comfort zone and do new things. Will they all be received well? No. But just try. You'll stumble upon something that works eventually.

You know, Xigo... it's been a really long time since Kidnapped 5, and we never really RP'd much since then! Maybe we should RP together more often, and see how things have changed over the months :)

Maybe with Maeia, Mathieu, or Hercynian. Hmmm.
