...Okay, sorry. I am excited for the switch, though! It's 'bout time!

A huge thank you to the GM team.

This is quite the long time coming. I've the utmost faith in the staff to handle this with excellence and commendable prowess.

If I had input, it'd be to say that once we finally do make the big switch, as a player and somewhat ineptly capable WoW technical user, creating a guide to how to switch the easiest and what to do for those of us who actually own Cataclysm, and those that do not, would be (in my foresight), highly appreciated.

Beware, Forsaken, for when Hillsbrad is attacked, we shall be there to stop you.

Suck it, breathers. We'll make corpses out of you all. :P

On a serious note, though, I've always been positive towards change as it brings a lot of new and interesting content to my favorite races (Orc, Night Elves, Forsaken and Worgen - the Worgen are added altogether!) Overall, I've been waiting for this news in a looong time. :3

Ah, well. Onwards, they said! I'll have my Tauren die while trying to summon a water spirit. In 1000 Needles. Hurr hurr. Good job breaking it, hero.

But yeah, I'm a bit uneasy with some of the changes....Will PvE and PvP work?
Allons-y!

Hi. I have some questions.

First would be.. What will happen with the new custom areas such as ratchet on rocks? Will they be rebuilt on Cata or will they disappear?

Second.. What's gonna happen with the custom items such as demon hunter tattoos? Will they be removed or will we be able to use them during Cata?

Third and last question. What about CMCs? Will they be still usable or?

As for my opinion on Cataclysm.. I think it's a good move, providing that we don't really have THAT much to do on WotLK anymore (or it is just me). Looking forward to it.

*Deleted bit, not sure how to word it otherwise.*

Late suggestion then for the Admins/Team: Why not simply keep two servers like we are running now? The CotH computer seems to be able to do that just fine. Has it been considered? What was the reasoning for not going with that if it was?

Cata - Official RP.
WotLK - Everything else.

Then RPers can do what they want, and those that don't feel like RP can still do what they want as well. Not looking forward to a broken-bugged-up-place that only serves as visual reference. (Seeing the rest would be broken.) I just want to know if the above has been considered.

Custom areas may get rebuilt, others may not. A lot of the world has changed, so areas viable for building have changed. This will affect some building projects more than others, but at least right off the bat I would anticipate most of the custom areas to be zapped, unless Rigley gets even more industrious.

Regarding items and CMCs: Kretol will have to answer, but I *believe* that at least with items we are intending on bringing the custom items back.

I would suggest less sensationalism if you would like your point taken seriously. Questers are not being "run over by the masses," that's just hyperbole.

Now, the dual-server thing I already answered earlier in the thread. We won't be running two servers because our server is too small to support two separate populations, and we want to keep our community undivided.

That said, to tack onto this and answer another question: while Cataclysm quests are broken, most spells should still be functional, and I believe most BC and Wrath content that works on the server now should still work on the Cata core. If nothing else, you still have that.

Firstly, thanks for the tactful progression. I have a few questions:

  1. How is the Dragonsworn system going to function in Cataclysm? Will it recieve any alterations?
  2. I wasn't around for any restarts so I don't exactly know how they function. What's happening in that sense, aside from OOC character purging?
  3. As independent organizations take the limelight in Cataclysm, what's the status on that going to be? I.e. will there be official moderation on them?
  4. Will Wildhammer Dwarves, Highborne, Goblin and Worgen (basically the new races) be counted as special profiles?

Noted, my apologies. Thank you for being direct regarding the way I write things, something I wish more people did. I've removed it, perhaps too late and of no real use now; But heh. Didn't knew how else to word it.

Hadn't seen that, but that is a valid logic. Since the test-Cata server got set up I haven't noticed a massive decrease on the WotLK server; But that's probably due to the timezones.

Fair enough. It's something indeed. Thank you for taking the time to reply.

Well, RotR is going to be explained off as 'crushed in a landslide'.

I have some ideas to supplement the loss of RP areas, in short. Many may be unable to be rebuilt, but we'll find new ones soon enough and I have plans for stuff that should fill many of the current spots we have.

Now, there is a caveat with the update; the custom patch -is- usable by both mac and pc. the issue is that the program to edit WoW to allow the patch to run is not. Unless we were to make all the macs emulate a pc client, we really can't use the custom patch, and that will cut down on some of the stuff we can do.

That being said, we've yet to even compile a list of spawnable objects, so there's a chance that we'll have some extra stuff regardless. We'll have to see in time, really.

Those, on the other hand, should be completely fine.
