Since I know there are a handful of you Warhammer 40k nuts here, I thought I would say that Eternal Crusade has updated.
They've pretty much just released the Space Marine chapters available to play when the game comes out.

For those that don't know, Eternal Crusade is supposed to be an MMO coming out in 2015. It will feature combat similar to Space Marine and Gears of War, with a fully destructible environment, space ships that can fire down from orbit, and more to be revealed.
The races that will be on launch are the Space Marines, Chaos Marines, the Orkz, and the Eldar.
They have it where you can apparently declare what race you choose....

Yeah I'm not feeling confident about this game as I was with dark millenium. Sounds like it's basically going to be warhammer online but with 40k units. If it survives a few expansions maybe they'll give us a nice little galaxy to raid, but I'm not holding my breath with anything this game presents. The developer's track record with video games is awful Too. Dorito's what now? Yuck. Let's just hope game's workshop has the reigns on this one and smacks Behaviour Interactive around when they try to introduce a Doritos themed space marine chapter....
I'm dumb enough to still play it though. I've bought EVERY single DoW game, even that god awful space marine game, so I'll be buying and playing this one...

Well, the good news is that it is going to be free and that they are going to be as balanced as the Tabletop (Which is to say none at all). So all the free-to-play will just be Orkboyz.
Also... I liked Space Marine.... I can't fathom why people don't like it.

Probably for the same reason why I can't fathom why people liked it, Thoradin.
So long as there are tyranids though I'm happy. Nids and crons always get the short end of the stick.

Well, problem is that at a flat, newcomers impression, they're just female space marines. And they're normally side characters in story/plot. Dawn of War included them which was nice but... In a MMO I doubt they'll show themselves. Maybe they could add them with the Space Marine faction along with Imperial Guardsman, which I would love to see, but... Doubtful.

I think the reason Adeptas Sororitas have been left out (alongside Imperial Guard, Inquisitorial forces, you name it) is because the developers are making a conscious decision to limit us to a single race of the 'core' factions, at least at launch. It'd create very imbalanced populations as well, considering the Imperium is the only faction in the game that has more than one 'race' fighting for it.
It would create enormous balance issues on the player-to-player level, as well, to be playing a regular ol' human in such a heavily superpowered battlefield . . . but the developers have already made perfectly clear that they don't particularly care about balance, and in very frank terms. :B
I am hoping that some day, they'll make Imperial Guard, Traitor Guard and Eldar Guardians playable in their F2P content as a mass-numbered 'basic infantry' class alongside what they've already established regarding Ork Boyz.
Until then, I bear the Word of Lorgar. :|

Agreed with you on that Sol. They may take a dawn of war approach to this. We'll see the other races in later expansions as the game grows. Until then, we get the big name ones.
