The hills of Mars Hill, North Carolina. It's a lot more hilly than I thought.

I don't have any pictures yet, but this is blog-worthy.

We finally made it down to our lovely cabin and yes, the xbox survived the trip. I did bring my internet hub, but I haven't found a spot to get service yet. Currently we're in the nearest town picking up some odds and ends. (salad, eggs, water, oj) that sort of thing.

The cabin itself is great. There's one main room with a wood-post bed. To the other corner sits the fireplace with a small (28"?) tv with cable service. We don't watch much tv but we've enjoyed some of the cooking shows like Guy's Grocery Games and Cutthroat Kitchen. Behind the couch is a small table where we eat our meals and do our little crafts. The kitchen is small, but we're used to our small one at home.

Out back is a covered deck with another small table and a pair of chairs. Way out there the wildlife is so active. My wifey got up at 6am and watched a doe walk by. There is also a hottub which is wonderful. I think our bed is too soft, so it'll help with my back. And when we go hiking. Don't worry, I brought all my stockpiled poison ivy supplies so it won't eat me alive.

So far it's just been nice to get away from work and spend time together.

Bah, what are you doing posting here?
Jump in the hot tub and do some hiking with her!

Seriously though, enjoy yourselves. It sounds wonderful.

Go away Dae, I'm bloggin' ere! /goblin

Just a short little update: Wow! We've really reconnected on a deep level. We've been reading a marriage enrichment book outloud together. My wifey really puts some books away, so I was honestly surprised how poor she reads outloud. That sounds terrible but it's just a small example of the little things we've learned about each other.

We're in town again visiting the campus ministry where both our faiths took off. It was great to see how their downtown spot was doing among the bars and nightlife. After some mochas from a place called "The Donkey", we're headed now to a closer town to find some late night munchies. We're both dreading tomorrow because checkout is at 11:00am.

Luckily, we haven't followed our itenary so there's quite a few items we never finished, including our book. We're going to use this as an opportunity to meld this week into next week to keep the romance going. We've got some major changes to accomplish such as restructuring work to make room for the personal lives we've neglected, transforming our home into a refugee from the world- instead of a place we dread coming to, and recommitting the best of ourselves to each other.

I rambled a bit so this was about 500% longer than I thought in my mind.
