Connection Issues?

I've been tinkering with my folder but I'm getting nothing but a big "Login Server Down" sign when I try to log in.

Any fixes?

What is your realmlist set at?

I've triple-checked my realmlist, and it's exactly how it should be:

set realmlist logon.conquestofthehorde.com
set patchlist logon.conquestofthehorde.com

Try pinging logon.conquestofthehorde.com from the command prompt (ping logon.conquestofthehorde.com). What IP address comes up?

I am unsure what's up, then. It's resolving properly. You may have to run the client patcher (it seems to be a rare requirement).

Patching the .exe proved unfruitful. Getting the same message.

Just a tiny bump instead of making something new - I'm having much the same problem. It doesn't even try to connect, just an insta 'Login Server Down' message when I type in my username and password. If I try twice, it'll give me Blizzard's official 'Unable to login' error box.

My realmlist is definitely set to what it should be, and pinging it gives me 66.150.155.132 in response.

Retail warcraft was completely wiped from my computer, and I downloaded the full patched torrent linked from the 'Downloads' forum.

Edit: A fix! Sadly the fix seems to be turning AVG off, which I'm not too comfortable doing for long periods. No matter how many times I set the client to 'Allow', it blocks it again each time I bring it open. Still working on it.

Edit 2: Electric boogaloo - I set my AVG firewall to 'Interactive', and then allowed the client when it asked me. Good news, everyone! :D
