MIRRORS EDGE 2 OMGGGGG FINALLY MORE FOOTAGE! (I really love this game)
More Doom? more happy face :D
I am hoping for them to make ME4 good.

Last but not least, I am generally happy they made the new xbox a tad better.

I was hoping for more on Mirror's edge 2. All the showed was conceptual stuff and that goes for every title EA showed. Probably becasue all their boss titles are made by DICE and they froze development on all titles while they were fixing the mess that was Battlefield 4, so they didn't have that much to show.

I can understand that, but I'm more disappointed is that -when- they finally showed anything, they basically went like "COMBAT! COMBATCOMBATCOMBATCOMBAAAAAAT!" That's not what I put weight on with a Mirror's Edge sequel.

It made me a bit nervous and I really hope it will be released the way Mirror's Edge is supposed to be.

The combat, although not the hype of Mirror's edge, is still a big integral of it. As person who played the first a few times I could say what got me hyped:
As a person who did the things she did (Until I quit, though I can see myself returning to the activity in the far future) I love how fluidly everything else goes, that you have more options and the like. You can see it especially from the combat, in the first it was very choppy for me, at least. I was always playing 'blind' (without the option of the indicator) but it felt as if the world isn't really that open. And I was disappointed that she vaulted over a fence and did not do the more effective move of kong to precision. (They did not show the move in the trailer, but they said they were now working with a few expert people, so it might just be added).

So yeah, I think what they wanted to show with the combat. Parkour is an art, and art varies from person to person, I really like how they finally added Faith's very own signature in that 'art', you could finally see her express herself with her moves. That is all.

That's true. I mean, I'm glad to see they're improving the combat, since I found it to be sorely lacking in the first game. I just hope they don't put too much emphasis on combat, y'know? It worries me a bit because at one point in development, EA had requested they put some more FPS elements into it, which I don't approve of.

But other than that I'm really hyped. I played the first game a lot when it was new too, even holding the world record on one of the time trials for a brief time.

Honestly, the only thing that got me excited at E3 thus far was the new Witcher 3 trailer.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-r1JsNMam8

The Witcher series is the most under-appreciated RPG out there right now. Sure, the games have their flaws; the first Witcher game suffered from lackluster combat, and The Witcher 2 suffered from a flawed difficulty curve and terrible interface. Neither of the games have been "perfect" thus far.

....However, the same criticisms can be applied to other games in the genre. Vanilla Skyrim had lackluster combat, a terrible UI, and more bugs than a rotting corpse on it's release. And yet it got 10/10's and lavish amounts of praise from the gaming journalism. Dragon Age 2 was also a horrid mess in nearly every regard, yet it too got a free ride in reviews. The Witcher 2 was far superior to both games, both in storyline and game play.

It always bothered me that some games and companies get held to a different standard than others. It's like, you'll constantly see JRPGs and other such games get mercilessly bashed for being "repetitive" and "grindy" and "uninspired." Yet in the same breath, journalists will give the next Call of Duty game a perfect score, even though it's always the same bullshit.

Sorry--tangent.

Anyway, The Witcher 3 is the only game I'm looking forward to from E3. I've completely lost interest in Dragon Age: Inquisition. I have no plans to buy it. The trailers look nice, but knowing EA it's probably all bullshots. And those screen shot reveals of the characters that have a quote by them? Terrible writing. The quotes the characters say are just...awkward.

As for other stuff...I think Nintendo had the best showing. While I haven't bought a Nintendo product in around 4 years, I've always admired how Nintendo at least tries. They're always willing to give new things a try, even if they do stick to the same IP's. I don't mind the fact that they're always releasing the same IP's, 'cause they always try to do something different. That, and they don't seem to be as dickish as the other AAA developers.

Dunno if it's enough to make me buy a Wii U, though. I think the only thing that could make me do so is if Nintendo announced Shigesato Itoi was heading the development of a whole new RPG. That'd make me buy a Wii U or a 3DS in a heart beat.

Seriously folks, if you haven't played Mother 3 yet, go play Mother 3. It's the only video game that's actually made me cry.

Far Cry 4 disappointed me because it wasn't Blood Dragon. I mean, I'm sure Far Cry 4 will be okay, for what it is. Far Cry 3 was pretty decent--great shooting gameplay with a cringe-inducing, subtlety racist storyline.

But seriously, Ubisoft should just drop everything and give us a full game version of Blood Dragon. If they gave a serious effort to it (as in building a game around it from the ground up, and not just re-skinning stuff from an initial game), it could be amazing. The Blood Dragon DLC was already pretty damn amazing. A reveal for that would get me way more excited than a Far Cry 4 reveal.

The thing is, Far Cry 4 just looks like the same ol' stuff. Except it's in a different locale and there are elephants. Alright? Cool, I guess? I'll probably buy it 'cause I'm a sucker for mindless single-player shooters, but eh.

Other than that, not too much piqued my interest. It's hard for me to get excited about video games now, with the state of the industry. I mean, I can't trust anything from the mainstream gaming industry now. Every trailer is bullshot doctored lies, meant to generate as much marketing hype as possible. Style over substance to the max of extreme.

Yeah, I get it, I don't want it to be too much combat oriented.

And, I passed a lot of trials but I did not compete for best time, not really my thing. I just admire the fun of parkour (And free running, but faith didn't free run a lot.) (If someone askes himself what is the difference: Parkour is from getting from point A to B with the best way possible. Free run is basically doing whatever you want with no direction of where you are going, you are just doing it for fun.)

Personally, and this really is a personal opinion, I didn't feel that much for The Witcher. I can see why others like it, though.

I usually didn't try too hard on the time trials either. The world record I held was because I found a new path in one of the trials that was way faster. To be honest, though, it was a little glitchy. If I recall correctly, it involved jumping off a balcony before instantly turning around, aiming up and attacking. It caused faith to somehow reverse momentum and smash through the window on the balcony above the one you jumped off, which coincidentally held the goal.

No Man's Sky looked pretty cool, but I'm not hearing a lot of hype for it.
Bruugar Beardbeard - DORF BESERKER
Desledar "Willem" Softprond - Night Elf Courier
Malaclypse - Gnome Death Knight
Penelope "Poppy" Durandel - Forsaken "Courier"
Boh'ri - Broken Elemental Warden, Twilight

All in all I'm pretty satisfied about this E3. Last year's E3 was the worst ,but this year wasn't so bad. Sony didn't excel, but they weren't terrible. Microsoft finally got their heads out of their arse and realized what's important, the Xbone doesn't look so bad any more. Nintendo also managed to step up their game and while all their stuff was TBA 2015, they announced some really boss titles.
