So, I heard you like romance...

So here's a link to a.. Steamy Romance novel. ;)

http://wowpedia.org/A_Steamy_Romance_Nov..._and_Misty

But really. I read the entire series so far of these in-game novels. I've never felt so comfortable. xD

I like reading the flavored text of in-game items and what not. I also like reading some of the in-game books like these. It's pretty funny and interesting to see what people put into the game.

So here's a few questions

What are some of your favorite or memorable reads of in-game items?

Do you think any of your characters would use them or at least know about them?

If you were to make your own in-game item, what would it be? You can be specific, giving it stats and what not. You can also name references to RL or RP events or people. It's something Blizz does already, haha. Or you can be simple about it.

And here's a challenge I suppose.

Write a mini book, note, or letter that your character would have in-game OR about your character. Free style it, keep it simple, etc.

You always lose and suck at everything.
You lose towns, people and your second in command is a 14-year old who uses dark magic on his protectors and runs away alone the the wilderness."

The Death Knights of Archeus has a special place in my heart for both providing some vital lore about DKs and undead in general, but also because it's pretty silly. It's a great read to look at while replaying the DK starting experience.
One of the things I like most about WC lore is that it makes the serious things silly and the silly things genuine and dramatic. I mean, the stereotypical idiocy of the orcs turning out to be the heinous act of artificial aging, which robbed an entire generation of their identity and culture...
Man, that's a great use of both fantasy stereotypes and plot potential.

But to get back on topic, if I were to write a primary source lore tidbit for WoW, I'd probably write something from Flora's perspective on Forsaken-Argent relations. Though she's a super derpy deader, I do feel that there have to be at least some other Forsaken with her more neutral views to explain why they haven't outright tried to turn the horde on the argent crusade...

Probably something along the lines of this one An Exotic Cookbook; But really, there are so many items out there that I enjoy reading as book/novel or item description, I wouldn't know where to begin listing them.

Depends strongly on the character. I have a dwarf who can't read, so unlikely though he may have been told the stories from others. On the other side of the coin, I've got a Mage who's addicted to books and reads them to come up with inspiration for new enchantments.

Quest items are always a bit fishy but in-game books? Feel free to use them; Some people go as far as writing their own TRP2 books and distribute those.

Honestly.. No idea. I think I'd make a tiny lore-relevant item to go in the Archeology profession. Not something that massively impacts the game in the end, but can still influence the stories a tiny bit to those who find out about it.

Something like this: Druid and Priest Statue

Why the Lusty Argonian Maid of course, however that's the wrong game - In WoW It's tied between two, because they're both equally awesome (IMO); A Clue to Sanders' Treasure and Another Clue to Sanders' Treasure . I enjoy these two because it gave me a slight sense of pride after finding the treasure, despite there being a marker for their general location in game, also I don't read too many books in game.

As Psychn put in the quote above, it really depends on which character it is and which book it is. I'm sure that Nina, Camen, Nooken, and Jinks are all likely to read some form of book or another for one reason or another. Meanwhile Rider isn't too fancy on reading, as he can barely talk properly. (The guy's penmanship is A+ though.)

This question once more really depends on the character, as Rider and his creativity would best come up with a wooden sword that's just a stick on the ground. Yet imagination knows no bounds with humanity - If I could only choose one character however....

Nooken, it'd likely be something along the lines of a weapon - Actually this sums it up pretty well; Perhaps a bit more purple though...
