Imo, the point of Blood knights regarding oneself is to (ab)use one's own body as a tool.

Let's not kid ourselves, the Lich King wasn't the sort of guy who would revive his special soldiers so darn well unless there was a reason for it. Gen3 DKs were designed as tools of fear, and a healthy-looking six-pack Draenei lunging at you isn't as scary as if he were part mutilated corpse. (By most sensibilities.)

I feel that DKs are so well preserved and gifted with manipulation of both vital and living flesh in Blood on top of their necromantic abilities to augment themselves. Undead stamina is unyielding, but imagine that power on top of the strength of the individual's former living strength.

By this logic, a DK would likely lack the ability to emulate life because it is simply impractical for living. However, I do agree that DKs probably do have superior connections to their physical senses than the average undead. (Scent of Blood, at least)
