The Undead, a guide.
#61
Morbent Fell is a rather recent addition though, and probably arrived well after the corruption of Duskwood. The undead in Karazhan I'd personally guess are later additions as well, happening after the death of Medivh. In fact I think it even specifies somewhere or other that Malchezaar was the one to raise many of the Karazhan denizens.

An undead raised by a necrolyte would likely have persished for some reason or another, in fact I'd find it more likely that they'd have been destroyed together with their necrolyte as, from my understanding, the necrolyte was/is a rather subpar raiser of the dead when compared to the later necromancers, and a majority of them were killed by their own under Doomhammer.
All makt åt Tengil, vår befriare!

I think I saw that Morbent is the one that started the plague in Duskwood, in WoWpedia. I may be wrong, though.

It is said that Deadwind Pass was corrupted during the time when Medivh was planning the opening of the Dark Portal, before the First War.
So, undead from the Second War could possibly travel to Deadwind Pass and seek refuge in Karazhan with the other undead, as Attumen the Huntsman did. And he survived, you see.
I think that there is a possibility.
