Here's what I've mustered on the history from where you left off. It isn't much like.

Basically, the Exodar crash lands on the isles of Azuremyst and Bloodmyst. The Draenei knew this was happening, and flew off in escape pods and ships, in stasis. The Exodar hit the ground and a large number of the survivors are killed. The remaining begin waking up and rebuilding with the Exodar's remains as a home. This is how your character first sees Azeroth. The Exodar cannot fly anymore, it is critically damaged and the Naaru on board was the only thing that kept life support and the like online. The Blood Elves knew about this happening, due to their fighting at Tempest Keep, and their scouts arrive, as well as a large plattoon sent to Bloodmyst Isle, which is corrupted by the broken engines and the like of the Exodar and has seriously damaged the local environment. Go there yourself to see more! The Blood Elves kill Draenei survivors who are wandering about trying to find their family after they awake from their stasis capsules. They also capture a large escape chamber, and slaughter the Draenei in the stasis chambers within. This is another reason why the Draenei loathe the Blood Elves, because of their heartless slaughter of their weakened people.

At the moment, on the Isles the people are trying to reverse the environmental effects caused by the Exodar because they feel guilty about harming the animals. They are also trying to remove the large Blood Elf present, but lack the soldiers to do so.

That's all I can remember at this moment in time ^^

Quote:Anything below 21,000 would have meant you were born on a different planet whilst you had to keep moving due to the Legion. If I'm right, the world is currently in a year that is less than a hundred, and considering Orcs were first corrupted at year -100, you can't have been born on Draenor, though correct me if I'm wrong

You can not be born on Draenor, this is correct.

Edit: On CotH, since you have to be atleast, 3,000 years old.

Extremely useful guide. It gave me a lot of enlightenment.

By the time I played in another server, I had heard a curious thing about them. Not sure if Canonical or not, but apparently Draenei love human foods (because of the spices apparently...).

As I understand, Velen used the spark of M'uru to purify the blood elves' sunwell in hopes of restoring their race. I have to wonder if this attitude towards the sin'dorei is shared by Draenei in general or not? Likewise I'm left wondering if its common knowledge among the Draenei. I assume that the Sin'dorei are clueless about this - otherwise I would expect them to be thankfull?

From Wowpedia: "The Sunwell's remaining energies then manifested themselves as Anveena Teague. Kael'thas attempted to summon Kil'jaeden into Azeroth through the Sunwell using Anveena's powers. After his plans were thwarted, Prophet Velen used the remaining spark of M'uru to reignite the well, thus restoring the elves' powers. "

I think it's pretty common knowledge, seeing as nearly half the Shattered Sun Offensive was Draenei and the other near-half was Blood Elves, with just a few of the other races scattered in. Regardless of whether or not they know it was Velen himself who restored the Sunwell, some would still be grateful toward the Draenei for helping them in a fight that wasn't theirs. Many Blood Elves are too proud/arrogant to admit they needed the help in the first place, however.

As for the Draenei (since they're the topic here), they will work with anyone to defeat the Burning Legion. Anyone or anything. Their main goal as a race is to help the Naaru build a giant army of all races from all worlds called the "Army of the Light" to eventually face the Burning Legion in the most epic battle of all time.

That said, they don't have to like all those other races. They still have plenty against Orcs and Blood Elves (and the other Horde races by association) for all the evil they've done. But most would understand that the groups of Orcs and Blood Elves who want to atone for their race's evil deeds are much like the Draenei themselves, who often have to try hard to distinguish themselves from the corrupted Eredar.

It's certainly common knowledge among sin'dorei cause;
1. their paladins are now part of the Shattered Sun Offensive and are led from Shattrath and
2. draenei and the SSO still remain on Quel'Danas.
And I cannot see why a blood elf would not be thankful, Velen and M'uru have created a solution to their addiction and begun healing their ties to the Light. But what they show, amongst their kindred or towards draenei is another question entirely which I think comes down to personal preference.

From what I can recall, Velen foresaw the events regarding the Sunwell and M'uru was aware of his sacrifice beforehand. I doubt the draenic people are in an agreement on the right/wrong of the Prophet's actions. He did after all sacrifice a naaru to give the blood elves a third chance.

Her is a fun fact that I found on the wowwiki about the Draenei life on Draenor.

"...while the inquisitive draenei built crude cities within the world's towering cliffs and peaks." http://www.wowpedia.org/Kil%27jaeden_and...hadow_Pact (2nd paragraph)

Quote:Arkanon Poros - /ARK-uh-non POH-ros/ - this is the most common greeting you'll hear among Draenei. Literally, this means "Journey be enough." It is a general wish for things to go well and for the recipient to be safe.

Use: Usually combined with the vocative form of a person's name: Arkanon Poros anAurhia! Arkanon Poros aStonemug!

Khronakai Khristor - /HKRON-uh-kye hkree-STOR/ - The Kh is like the Greek X or the Scottish CH. Roughly, this means "eternal glory".

Use: Again combined with the vocative form of a name: Khronakai Khristor anAurhia!

Khrona Ex Korta - Khrona, again going off Greek roots, probably has to do with time. Ek generally is "from" or "after". Korta I'm not sure about. However, Kure seems to mean "redeem" (and I would pronounce that /KOOR-eh/, with the same rounder vowel). Since only the Broken say it, it's perhaps not implausible that they are related. This would give us something approaching "Time after Redemption", with a spelling similar to Khrona ek kuretaa". Like "May the Light embrace you!", it might be something like "May time redeem you" or "Long life from redemption"

Di'ohnisaka - dai - oh - niss / ah - kah - This is a guess based on breaking it down to three words. I was initially caught up on the similarity of the first part to Dionysus and trying to think what that might signify but if you break that down further, the roots aren't too far off from "God (or Zeus, depending on which century) go with you gently." That's _very_ loose. For transcription of that to the way I have it here, I'd say that was close to: Deioh nis aka. I've also typed it Dionis'aka as a short form.

Another (stronger) possibility is that it's "di'ohnisaka", which would be a form of of oninehmi (greek), which is to benefit or to help. So it could simply be "How may I help you?" I believe that's the meaning I'll be going with for my own use.

In your translation for the word Eredar, it explains that it's lost it's meaning and has a disgusting meaning to them... I was under the impression that the word "Man'ari" essentially had that purpose.

I would imagine the Draenei would not want to be connected to their past anymore, and would shun the old word for their race (Eredar) as being representative of the same culture that allowed itself to become corrupt. By becoming the Draenei (exiled ones) they might be trying to wholly embrace their new status and at the same time distance themselves from what they once were.

Well, as much as Draenei are said to be supposed to despise Sin'Dorei and orcs, many IC Draenei have relationships beyond friends with both. Think about it this way... not all of the Draenei see themselves as such... Ones who have completely separated themselves from the past, might see themselves as a Shaman or a Priest... or more likely a Deathknight... rather than a Draenei. In fact, I believe they are even more likely in the current society of CotH to see themselves as simply, men and women. Rather than Draenei, or Orc. But this may only partially be the case. Aadora highly praises herself as a Shaman above a Draenei... but will never forgive the Sin'Dorei for causing the death of her family in the crash. She does not refuse to associate with them, and tends to hide her feelings... but deep down, she will never trust one, or be truly friends with one.

My idea on Draenei views on the two other races they are supposed to hate? It just depends on the Draenei. It depends on their personality -Forgiving or vengeful- and mixes in with other things. Because lets face it... being a forgiving person is not going to let you forgive someone for attempting to wipe out your race. It would take other things such as a great desire to live in the now, or a great desire to be a Shaman over a Draenei as I said before.

Conclusion?

1. Some Draenei despise both, and may infact make it their priority to kill Orcs, over beings such as the Lich king.

2. Some may be crazy, and think that the Orcs or Sin'Dorei were in the right to do as they did.

3. Some may be such good forgiving people... or otherwise not enthralled with massacre of their enemies... that they would not only see themselves as something beyond Draenei, but would even be able to fall in love with an Orc or a Sin'Dorei.

4. Correct me if I'm wrong... I did not read the ENTIRE guide. But the Draenei only had a short dealing with the Sin'Dorei correct? I mean... they fought them for the Exodar. It was a simple war between the two. Not one trying to massacre the other, just one attempting to take something from the other to survive. They can, but shouldn't really HATE the Sin'Dorei for sabotaging something that was stolen from them. And I believe that they fought them in outlands right? This was another war... you can't hate a race for war. Otherwise the real world would have had the sun blocked out by so many nukes... long, long ago. I think the reason they are hated over the whole Exodar deal, is that there was such a small number on the ship, that almost everyone lost someone to the crash. They hate them because of personal loss in my opinion. People die in war... but when it is someone you love, you can hate the people who killed them until you die.

Quick Example, if you don't mind that is Saiyuu?

Aellia is with an Orc no? I think that is because she sees herself as a Deathknight now, not a Draenei. And the guy understands her! Of course I could just be wrong, so just slap me and banish me forever if I am...

;(

Anyways... this whole post is simply based on what I believe, or my opinions.

Aadora - The animosity towards the orcs and sin'dorei are two very different stories and should in most draenei invoke two seperate states of mind.

Orcs were their "allies" which some traded with and the two parties kept out of each others way. They came to be corrupted by the Legion until the point they drank the demon blood, an act that the draenei thought was their own doing until after the majority of the draenei fled on the Exodar. Essentially the common thought about orcs is that they are a people that also suffered at the hands of the Legion and they did so because of the draenei coming to Draenor. It should be fear of their ferocity, mutation and guilt.

Sin'dorei on the other hand, with their mind their own, sold out to the Legion for some fel which mutated their entire bloodline. They took over AND sabotaged the vessel of the draenei-race saviours. So what is aimed at sin'dorei is a deep disrespect, disgust but also a fear that their demon trafficking will be the end of all, much like their kin previous to the Sundering.

As for out-of-draenic-race-relations, the draenic culture is set around duty and revolve much about their population dwindling. The coming of children is thought to be celebrated. So I think loving a human can be accepted as long as you still go about mating and breeding with draenei on the side. (As for how openly you speak of such relations, that is a whole other discussion.)

To be fair, Bovel, ever since the Shattered Sun Offense, Draenei and Blood Elves have been on much better terms as far as races go, or so I've read at any rate.

That said, they still don't get along, but the hate levels are significantly reduced as a whole.
Your stories will always remain...

After reading up on this thread, I did some research of my own.

While I don't mean to 'correct' the original poster in any way, and while I understand that this source is not written by anyone with any official say on how Draenei act, I still think it's an interesting read - and I think anyone seriously considering playing Draenei should have a skim through. :3
