Worgen Death Knights - Possible or Not?

The problem with that is -all- Worgen DKs couldn't of escaped from Shadowfang Keep, that would be quite illogical.

Hey, it's how Blizzard's doing it. Do we really need to ban players from being Worgen DK? Grakor already said that he'd prefer to allow ANY race/class combination ICly.

That is, if it exists OOCly, of course. There are some special exceptions though like we could rp hunters before Cata, I rped a gnome hunter, even.

I understand fully that it should be possible, but we need to think up a proper explanation that would be plausible, like what Belladonalycanis said.

In that quest, it also makes every DK out to be a champion of their race which, quite obviously, we don't RP.

All the DK quest texts make you a champion of your race. I was more focusing on how it mentioned Shadowfang Keep and Silverpine.

I've always found them unacceptable, and if they do exist, they have to be as good with hiding as Tauren rogues because I've never seen a single one in 2 years. Anywho, I'm wating for this until Cata. Possible they change the DK starter quest chain.

Maybe you didn't see one because they happen to be a new playable race? Did we see any goblin death knights before now?

And really, they're going to be allowed. I don't see why we need to get uppity about it.

Goblin DK's I could actually see. I think I've seen a couple hanging around LHC.
Even then, there are a few in Northrend and all.

However, if they change the quest chain to The Ebon Blade making new knights, then yes, it'd make more sense.

But the point is that you haven't seen a goblin DK until Cataclysm, right?

They have an explanation for Worgen, so I think we should go with it. Even if that explanation isn't good enough, I think Grakor said we could try and make custom server lore for it to be accepted. We just aren't planning to bar DKs from any of the races.

I think Blizzard wanted to retroactively add to the DK quest chain instead of having to make a new one up and make two different DK starting zones just for the addition of two races. Either way, they're there.

Also couldn't that logic be applied to the goblin DKs that have been added to the quest line as well? They weren't there originally before.

Worgen Dk is easy to explain really. The lich king had Worgens under his control. Towns of them, he even has the guy who help spread the curse working for him. It would be no small leap for him to make werewolf dks. And when the lich king dies the worgen Dk's are left unemployed and go work for Gilneas. IT makes as much sense as werewolves in the alliance.... but it works.

The real problem at hand is.... we are rpers in a world that blizzard is not making for rpers. XD Blizz sucks now.

Goblin dk... Also easy. Goblins follow the money. Argent dawn pays, the lich king slays. Boom, Goblin Dk.

I'm not doubting the Goblin DK, I am just saying that if worgen were unacceptable then Goblins should be too, by that train of logic, because they weren't originally part of the DK quest chain.

The GM responses in this thread are a bit outdated. I'm pretty sure I said in another thread that any race/class/spec combination that's possible within the mechanics of the game is possible in RP, and if Blizzard didn't come up with an explanation for them, we'd come up with one ourselves. The Blizz explanation for Worgen works well enough for me: they're worgen formerly from SFK. There's also the Wolf Cult up in Northrend, which would also work as an explanation.

This does imply that Goblin and Worgen DKs have always been around, they're just not doing anything right now because they aren't allied with either faction, and that heavily restricts their movements.
