(Not sure how a family of five slaves suddenly turned into five enemy trolls, but... Okay?)

Jones looks back at the trolls and barely sees out of the corner of his eyes their manacles fall. He doesn't seem to care much about them, and reloads his handguns. A throwing axe thunks into the heavy leather on his back, causing Jones to growl as he rolls to the side out of the way of another one. He turns, and in an instant, fires two bullets off at each of the first two charging trolls. He rolls his neck, and eyes the three remaining over. "You've just -royally- pissed me off."

Jones stands and then blinks when Alcippe shouts out her word. He leaps to the side as lightning shoots out at him, singing through his side-armor and causing him to growl once more. He takes aim and fires off two rounds at both of the other trolls, and then stumbles and fires towards Alcippe's legs rather than her chest or head, easily missing or not. He looks down at his handguns, and reloads as he runs to the side, hoping to get away from the possibly wounded troll woman.

(Sorry, saw family of five and assumed you meant the entourage I posted about earlier. Nevertheless...)

Tamzi and Nora begins to shout as they charge, daggers raised above their heads. Gunfire cracks. Nora screams and cradles her bleeding shoulder. The other girl remains silent and face down; red sand clings to her face.

The other two charging trolls quickly halt in their place as bullets continue to whiz by like furious bees. They both look at their fallen comrade and then to Alcippe.

Alcippe is almost ignorant of the bursts of sand at her feet, easily dismissing them as stray arrows and shells. Alcippe shakes her head, "Tamzi be a goo gal, 'er spiri deservin peace." She quickly turns and jumps onto a frail slave, plunging her dagger into his chest.

She looks over her shoulder with her eyebrows reaching for her nose, "Be findin tat tworf. Me owin im anotta zap." Her goons resume chasing Jones as Alcippe drags Nora to the shore with two slaves in tow.

[I'm afraid I'll have to close the story early, as I can't seem to bring myself to stretch it to the planned end. I will devote the next two Checkpoints on retreating. This one is the actual retreat, the last will be the closing post. Feel free to attack remaining sentries.]


Amidst the chaos, the Mongoose begin stepping back, one brother whispering to the other. They turn to the Peacock and Peahen as they mutter the key words into ending the havoc: "Release and retreat."

The Forsaken siblings understood. The battle cannot continue like this, even if they had numbers to their advantage. The mission was compromised. Peacock raised a horn to his rotting lips to sound a horn of retreat for those under his command. Sentries armed with smoke bombs began throwing them down to the ground and began fleeing, some to the trees, some to the sea on boats. Slaves are still chained and left behind, however.

The mission is compromised and the slaves are no longer worth salvaging. Peacock and Peahen fled aboard a longboat, four sentries pushing them forward. The Death Knight brothers remained on shore to keep an eye out for the foolish heroes who chose to give chase.
