Out of curiosity, is this 4.0.6 or 4.0.6a?
I believe there is only 4.0.6a for emulators these days. Not to mention the thread Kretol linked mentioned 4.0.6a.
Okay, I see many are exsited for this, but I'm not so, will much change workings wise? I like how we are set up now, not to sounds stuck in old ways, of course.
I doubt there will be too many changes. There will likely be a new OOC zone, but I can't see much else changing unless the administration warrants it.
Well, from what I heard about the last change, there will be changes every time :P But I do think I may just be stuck in the old ways, I barely have my lore straight as it is :P
Hopefully the Cata folder I have for Paragon will work for CotH on Cata. Only one way to tell! Gotta test it when the time comes. But for now, I plan ahead. Gotta think of who will survive and who shall be forgotten and left behind.

It will. There's no core that went past 4.0.6a and I highly doubt that whoever is Dev these days on that server made his own core.

But it could be cool! I mean, Cata is always nice.

There is TrinityCore that is currently on 4.3.4... But that's still heavily under development, though.

Wow, I thought those guys are gonna sit on wotlk forever. Seems like they finally made the step. Well I think Skyfire would be ahead of them providing that trinity has so much more content to fix.

ANYWAY, looking forward!
The problem with patches these days is that Blizzard randomizes the opcodes with every update they put out... Which means that TC would be spending more time on opcodes than actual content every time. I'm going to assume the same thing will happen with MoP: Wait for the final patch and start working on content once you don't have to worry about opcodes more than once.

Oh, by the way. Kretol, assuming you are using Skyfire, you might want to check out the code for the Death Knight talent Sudden Doom. It doesn't seem like the devs fixed the server crash yet when you have that talent and you fight unarmed... At least, it doesn't look like it to me.
I believe when the day comes for CotH to go Cata, I will be standing at the brink saying

COME AT ME BRO

Alright, some notes on how the test server seems to be working so far...

1. The server clients are rather finicky. I'm imagining that this is going to be a nightmare for some people to actually get working.

2. We're having trouble with the custom GO patch on there, including the one that's supposedly updated for Cata. So, not sure if we'll get that or not.

3. Goblin starter area is FUBAR. Most likely we'll have to set up a portal to just have goblins skip the starter area. Thankfully, goblins have most of their racials at the beginning. The downside is that this means all goblins will lose out on the hobgoblin banker racial.

4. Worgen starter area was a bit buggy, but we've managed to smooth out some kinks in the City of Gilneas section. It can still be unstable and buggy if multiple people go through the quest steps at the same time, so people will need to go through that section one at a time. Unfortunately, Worgen can't just skip this, because without doing this section of the zone you don't get Two Forms or your other racials. Once you're out of Gilneas City, the quest line becomes FUBAR, but we fixed the problems with it so we can probably set up a portal to escape the instance once you're out of the city. Also unfortunately, Running Wild doesn't work, as Worgen fail to learn it naturally. Also, it apparently turns you into a wisp.

5. Gameplay wise, this is pretty much not workable. There's a lot of bugs, phasing quests are essentially shot, and so on.

We're still debating how to best proceed, but that's a few warnings and limitations to get out of the way right off the bat.
At least we, now, know about progress! I remember the days when I used to ask the GMs on the GM-table if they've heard anything of Cata-CotH; like they were supposed to know.

Either way, wanting it badly. But I suppose we're gonna need some 'introductory events'? I guess things wouldn't just pop up!
