I'm doing so right now... In fact, I have a retail folder, two 4.0.6a folders, a 3.3.5a folder and another 4.3.4 folder... So I'd say, yes, you can.

It is indeed possible, I have Classis WoW, TBC, WoTLK, and Cata. And I can run them all at once, but I'd need a better computer. But they work side-by-side.

I meant on the -server machine.- XD I'm unsure if it has a good enough processing power to run both at once.
Lol, apperently you didn't :P
If we could run the two servers side-by-side then people could bugtest the cata server while keeping their nearly bugless wrath intact.
Oh! A great Idea in my opinion, though it'd be hard to keep track, is this char in cata or wrath?
They are indeed running concurrently!
Oh? Then maybe you can try more people on the Cata? (Remember is nub and thinks you may have thought of this...) Like add FHs as well?
Perhaps a trial run, testing out the waters. If we don't like it, we go back. Would that be too difficult to manage? Approved Characters on accounts that have gruntship could get 85'd and some simple mount NPC could be spawned in the starting areas, and then we could roam around and do a sort of open beta environment.
A lot of people won't want to go back after any testing. It's not worth the potential drama.
I get what Xigo means... and plus, I don't think it's worth dividing server either. Everything already feels so disconnected. Despite that I want Cata... I don't know.

True enough. Then perhaps we could simply increase the sample group of testers so bug reports can be gathered for fixes faster. Speed up the process so in the end, everyone's happy?

The easiest way would be to have people put names in, then randomly select ten to twenty of them. Those players could then try to level a character to fifty by questing, and work out any bugs. Perhaps even assign race and class combinations to each one, (That would also require more dedicated testers, but in the end it could solve most of the leveling-related issues faster) and throw them some heirloom armor.

Like I've said before, I'll wait forever for Cata if I have to, but I think almost all of us can say: the sooner the better, definitely. Just tossing some ideas at the wall to see what sticks.
Unrelated to the above inquiry and suggestion, but--
