Welcome!
Lok'Tar! Conquest of the Horde was originally a private World of Warcraft RP community that focused primarily on roleplay within the WoW setting. Originally established in September of 2007, CotH enjoyed a healthy reign of over seven years focused on WoW roleplay. On January 22nd of 2015, a DMCA notice was issued, resulting in a halt of the WoW RP focus. Now, the community has expanded to encompass multiple worlds in various games and settings. This community will serve as a hub for members to join like-minded individuals in any game or environment. The community itself will also host a few game worlds of its own after development progresses enough.
While the dust is settling after the revelation of the WoW server closure, feel free to hang out and see how development goes!

  READ THE STICKIES.

Regarding vouching for other players... please ACTUALLY READ THE STICKIES before doing it. This goes for ANY section of the forum as well. I'm getting a little fed up with people saying over and over that they don't know how it works when the information is RIGHT THERE.

I'm thrilled that you want to vouch, I really am, but I'd be even happier if people would actually read the information we provide for them.

(Yes, I made this large and obnoxious. Not sure how else to get people to read it.)

  A Server Lore Retcon/Change
Posted by: Grakor456 - 06-18-2008, 08:23 PM - Forum: Community News - Replies (3)

Way back when the server was first started, it was just a collection of Kretol's extended friends, and due to the more personal nature of the interactions a lot of things were more relaxed and less structured than they are now. At the time, things were possible then that aren't now.

I bring this up because one of the oldest pieces of server lore, Kretol supposed partial deification, was brought up in some of our conversations, and after a while it was decided that it would be best for the server lore as a whole if it was removed so the lore could be taken more seriously. Therefore, we are retconning it.

Hopefully we will get around to making changes to the server lore sections itself soon, but the sum of the changes: Kretol was never deified. He never "ascended." He is/was simply one of many shaman, druids, and priests that combined to overturn the Second Plague. He is, however, still chieftain of the Earthshaker Clan, which is essentially his origin. The Second Plague was destroyed by a combined Horde and Alliance effort, which eased tensions (at least partly) between the two warring factions.

If you have any questions, comment below.

  My temporary hiatus
Posted by: Kretol - 06-17-2008, 01:45 AM - Forum: Community News - Replies (1)

Some of you may have noticed that I haven't been around much for the past few weeks. Unfortunately, I've hit a sort of "interest slump" in that I have no real desire to log on to the server. Therefore, I've been taking a needed break. In the meantime, I've been busying myself with other PC games such as Mass Effect, Hellgate: London and EverQuest (only because they have a promotion going where all old accounts have been reactivated, given free game time until the end of July and some other perks).

I have no intention of staying away for good, so rest assured. I've just needed a break for a while now. ;)

I'll post any further information later!

  On Prestige Titles/Classes
Posted by: Grakor456 - 06-14-2008, 05:07 PM - Forum: Community News - Replies (17)

The Title system was going beautifully...then one of our GMs got sick, and the other went off to play Conan.

So, I decided that we really can't wait forever. I went ahead and posted the two classes I was responsible for. For the rest, I need you all to tell me some things.

1. If you have a character apprenticed to one of the MIA GMs, let me know. We will see what can be arranged to keep your character busy and on-track until said GM returns, or more permanent arrangements can be made.

2. If you are interested in one of the classes that was listed, but is not yet released, let us know in a reply to this thread. I will do my best to draft the class post.

That is all.
