Welcome! |
Lok'Tar! Conquest of the Horde was originally a private World of Warcraft RP community that focused primarily on roleplay within the WoW setting. Originally established in September of 2007, CotH enjoyed a healthy reign of over seven years focused on WoW roleplay. On January 22nd of 2015, a DMCA notice was issued, resulting in a halt of the WoW RP focus. Now, the community has expanded to encompass multiple worlds in various games and settings. This community will serve as a hub for members to join like-minded individuals in any game or environment. The community itself will also host a few game worlds of its own after development progresses enough.
While the dust is settling after the revelation of the WoW server closure, feel free to hang out and see how development goes!

Cleaning Up |

I have talked to Kretol and Rensin. After a bit of discussion, we have come to a decision.
We should not need to be tearing our hair out every day. I shouldn't dread logging onto the server. I should not have to create long rants like I did last night.
Therefore, we are going to clean up the server. Players that have shown to be trouble-makers or just plain detrimental to the server as a whole will be removed. If you're worried that you'll be targeted, you probably will be.
This is our server. It is our right to choose who can and can not join.
I will update this thread later. For now, just know that the clean-up is coming.

Complete and Utter Disappointment |

If you read any forum posts today, let it be this one, because what I'm about to say is very important.
I am very, very disappointed with what I had seen at the Drudaen Tavern today. I am very, very furious with everyone involved.
Roleplaying is about acting. It is about playing a role (duh) within a certain scene, game, whatever. But most importantly, it is about immersion, creating a series of events that makes sense and would be fun to read.
People seem to forget, however, that they aren't the only actors in this game. They also seem to forget that the "extras" in this game are there to further the believability of the setting, and are not there to be ignored.
Let me be blunt: under no circumstances should you ever go around completely ignoring the presence of NPC guards, bouncers, what have you. If you are about to draw your sword in the middle of a tavern, think for a moment. Would the bouncer take exception to that? Of course he would! You don't go into bars IRL and wave a loaded gun around, do you? Think people, think! If you draw a weapon in a public place, you're going to get tossed out.
If Bella were here to see what people were doing in her tavern, she'd be just as furious as I am right now. Seriously people, why are people threatening and fighting in the tavern, let alone people DYING and HAVING SEX? This is inexcusable. This is not how mature roleplayers should be acting. People complain that they don't want to be monitored like kids, and yet they continually prove that they NEED to be monitored in this way.
I have dealt with a lot of stupidity since this summer began, but this honestly takes the cake. These past two days have been utter hell. I'm sick of it, and so very disappointed.

Attempted Update Tonight @ ~1am PDT |

I'm going to try updating the server code again to actually be a bit new. Hopefully some bugs will be fixed, but I haven't been keeping a close eye on all the updates since the current revision (there's been a bit of drama in the "Ascent scene" which has caused some holdups).
Updating may take up to a half-hour or so - the compiling won't take that long, but trying to ascertain whether certain crashes have been fixed may take longer, and if it's bad then I'll once again revert to the old code.
Be prepared!
Edit: Moved the time up an hour.
