Welcome!
Lok'Tar! Conquest of the Horde was originally a private World of Warcraft RP community that focused primarily on roleplay within the WoW setting. Originally established in September of 2007, CotH enjoyed a healthy reign of over seven years focused on WoW roleplay. On January 22nd of 2015, a DMCA notice was issued, resulting in a halt of the WoW RP focus. Now, the community has expanded to encompass multiple worlds in various games and settings. This community will serve as a hub for members to join like-minded individuals in any game or environment. The community itself will also host a few game worlds of its own after development progresses enough.
While the dust is settling after the revelation of the WoW server closure, feel free to hang out and see how development goes!

  11/30 10:07p - Revision Update
Posted by: Kretol - 11-30-2009, 10:06 PM - Forum: Server Status Updates - Replies (5)

Okay! It's time for another attempted revision update.

Server coming down shortly for it, and the estimated downtime is 5-10 minutes or so.

  Recent permissions changes...
Posted by: Kretol - 11-26-2009, 10:10 PM - Forum: Community News - Replies (1)

This mainly has to do with the transition between the Newly Registered Users group and the normal Registered Users group.

For those of you who recently had their introduction approved and have not reached or gone above 5 posts by around the time I posted this, you are probably still in the Newly Registered Users group with no possible way to automatically get out of it. Therefore, please feel free to send myself, Rensin or Tales23 a PM to remove you manually from that group.

A quick way to gauge whether you're still in the usergroup is whether or not you can see the new "READ IN HERE" forum aimed specifically at folks who haven't had an approved introduction yet. If you can still see it and you already have an introduction posted that was approved (you can see it), send in a PM!

  The Next Sin'sholai Event
Posted by: Grakor456 - 11-25-2009, 12:45 AM - Forum: Community News - Replies (35)

Alright. I'm feeling better now, and I think it's time for me to get started on running this plot again.

The next event I will tentatively be scheduling for Friday afternoon. Time is still up in the air, but I'm thinking either 5 or 6 PM EST. Earlier or later depending on attendance. All Sin'sholai are encouraged to attend, rebel or loyalist, trapped in the city or outside of it.

  Introductions
Posted by: Kretol - 11-19-2009, 03:20 PM - Forum: Community News - Replies (4)

Effectively immediately, stories are not immediately required in introductions to be complete. However, a story -must- be included by the time people aim to move up to Gruntship.
We hope that this will help in catching those who feel thinking up a story on the spot may be a bit too much work just to take a look on the server. That said, we will now be a bit less lenient for very short answers to other questions.

I should also note, for those that haven't seen it, that the Introductions forum is currently affected by post approval. For more information, please check the sticky in the forum.

Edit: I should also note that we also don't -require- a paragraph for every question. A few sentences can be adequate if they answer the question well enough, but if you're not sure, I'd suggest to expand on your answers if you've only written a couple sentences.

  Valen, screenshots, and cleaning up
Posted by: Grakor456 - 11-16-2009, 08:25 PM - Forum: Community News - Replies (38)

To say that right now I'm angry and disappointed would probably be the biggest understatement I'll make all year. As many of you know, I've been absent in-game, what many of you don't know is that I've been absent because of a good amount of drama and stress on myself.

I point this out, because the stress caused by what I'm seeing now doesn't need to be added on to it.

As some of you know, Valen left the GM team. Out of respect for his decision to step down, we left his rank unchanged in case he should return. In the meantime, the GM team has been discussing doing another cleaning up, and those of you who have been around CotH for a while know what that is, where we remove the players obviously a detriment to the server, as many players request that we do. When we do this, we begin by coming up with a long list of players that annoys one person or another and whittle that list down to the folks that everyone can agree needs to go.

Valen then took advantage of his position. He took screenshots of the thread about this cleanup, specifically took negative posts out of context while avoiding the posts defending players and the posts noting that this list was going to be reduced drastically. He took these screenshots and he gave them to players.

Valen betrayed every GM on staff. He stabbed us in the back in a move that we thought was lower than he was capable of. He has been banned, and we won't be lifting that one anytime soon.

It's a shame that one we put a lot of trust into would stoop as low as to try to smear our name in such an underhanded way.

What is done is done, however.

Yes, a clean-up will be happening soon. No, it won't be thirty some-odd people. Yes, it's necessary to keep the quality of the server. No, your rage-quitting over screenshots taken out of context won't matter to me at all.

Take what you see with a grain of salt.
