As neat as it'd be, yea, IC > OOC.

It's not that hard leveling Engineering! You can get rid of stress from leveling it IC.

"Hey what's up Bob? Yak, you smell gunpowder!"
"Been trainnig Engineering...by the Light, it's a pain!"
"You mean it's not make-up under your eyes?"
"Maybe."

I think this is another case of the claim that, because this is an RP forum, we should be allowed to take the easy way out when it comes to items.

Personally, I think that if you want to be an engineer that crafts a bike, you need to ICly learn engineering, and OOCly grind your profession to the level that allows you to make the bike on your own.

It's seriously not that hard. I don't see why people are always complaining about grinding. With the vendors and trainers at Arathi Basin, you can grind a profession literally to 450 in a matter of a few days.

And don't tell me that gold is a big problem. If you are level 80, you can grind gold quickly and efficiently. I spent less than half an hour in one instance and racked up several hundred gold pieces from it. Which fueled my Jewelcrafting needs, and put me to 430. The only reason I haven't progressed farther is because I need an alchemist for the next gems.

But back to my point. It's easy as hell to go tell everyone you have been engineering for months, and you know all about it ICly, and now you want your motorcycle. But there's little in the way to verify that you have actually RP'd out learning how to be an Engineer. For all we know, you could have just been goofing around all that time, waiting a suitable length before making your claims.

Whereas having the profession at a high level as well, at least that shows you are making some effort for it.

In cases like this, I see it as the IC learning and OOC levels go hand in hand. If you want to ICly be a master engineer, you should OOCly hold at least that rank in your profession. There's really no reason why you can't. It's not like grinding takes forever, like it would on retail.

Right now, I'd say it's gonna stay this way. Just because we give you guys a ton of stuff already, doesn't mean it'd hurt you to OOCly train and IC profession.

I grinded hard for that god-forsaken gyrocopter. And now no requirements? No. I'm not for it.

So where do we stand on flying machines, and such? As now, I have worked my way to master engineer, and looked at it going "FInally! It is within my grasp!" Only to see the requirement for the skill set to 9999.... Therefore making it impossible to grind enough skill to get skill 9999...

That's... odd.
What item, exactly? Or do you mean to learn the recipe?

You can learn the skill from engineering trainers (including the one in Arathi) and it states that you need 9999 engineering skill in order to learn the thingy to make the copter *Nods* Therefore, we cannot learn it D:
