Frozen knights of sorts?
#1
Oh yes, another exciting question.. I bet all of you are jumping with joy!
Anyway.
As some may have noticed, I'm pretty much obsessed with Nordic lore, snow, ice and that sort. And yes, a Scandinavian fellow like me can be so smug about their roots.. Anyhoo, I've been wondering.. Is there any way to create a.. Nordic character of sorts, who wields frost "based" armour and weaponry. And no, I'm not talking about DKs, and another no, I don't mean NPC Vrykuls. (Who are damn cool, by the way)
In a nutshell..
Any way to create a "good Death Knight"? Nordic-sort of armour sets? Weapons? Anything?

There are nordic-looking armor types, but frost /based/? I'm not sure I understand what you're getting at. You mean, enchanted?

I believe he means armour actually made using frost powers.

I think it's possible, but said armour would definately need some reinforcing. Perhaps via strengthening enchantments?

Ackh, no no no.. And yes. I know that sounds odd..
Tireness, boredness and Battery do not mix.
The "frost based" stuff means.. Well, what do you think of when someone says "frost armor"?
Get it? Hm? HM?

The mage spell.

Okay, do you mean armor made FROM ice, armor made to protect against cold, or what? Be blunt. We're simple.

Fine, bluntly.
Armor RELATED to ice. In any way.

Alright. As an actual member of the old norse god religion and a firm believer and practicioner of the old ways of the north ( Iceland ) I must say: Frost is in no way connected to the old norse ways. Sure the northlands are cold, but as to the legends and gods themselves ice is not in any way a part of it.

Back on topic: Frost related armor would have to be crafted by very skilled smiths, that also happened to be mages or were working with mages. This sort of armor would be extremely rare, given the power it would take to create it. Think Frostmourne, but with ice based enhancements instead of soul-sucking.

I haven't really claimed that ice has anything to do with norse religion, but anyway..
Thanks for that info, 'tis the answer I was looking for. Or at least half of it.
Information about enchantments, check. How to get these enchantments ICly, check. But there is still this question..
Wich armour sets, or set, LOOKS nordic?

As a side note, this is getting complicated.

Pretty much everything added in the WotLK expansion looks nordic in some way. So, basically you don't need a specific set, but rather just find stuff that drops in Northrend and match it together.

Nordic in look isn't that far of a stretch, but in mannerisms outside of the Vyk-whatever society would be a stretch.

As for armor... that's like ice/frost, that'd be beyond hard to have crafted, and have it keep it's shape or form. You'd need something akin to a mage-smith-enchanter that's in a league of his own in all three categories to pull something of that magnitude off... without it suddenly turning into water on you.

And lord, that'd be embarassing.
