Joining Lore Organizations.
#1
Blood Knights.
SI:7.
Stormwind Army.
Shattered Hand Clan.

So these organizations are usually out of touch. Most of them are only join-able by special profiles, but what if you wanted to join one of these organizations at a later date? So here's the suggestion...how about let people train to become one and be under the tutelage of an NPC (Or a PC), much like how Prestige Classes are handled? (Apart from the submission of profiles). Maybe a GM supervisor would handle them and make sure they don't use this new found powers to abuse in their RP?

Wanna know why? With the exception of bloodknights, which are pretty much any BE Paladin, the rest of those are guard, or guard like characters. Nostra and I used to run two guilds, I had SI:7, he had Stormwind guard. The only thing both guilds were consitantly good for was drama mongering.

Players policing players, even ICly is a terrible mix. We had more than one occasion where people would metagame, try to force a false authority on one another, and so on and so forth.

Basically, we've talked about it a LOT before. We don't want this to happen again, and as I've said, it was a consistant thing.

Yeah, I can't see much good come from it, if I'm honest. There's always been drama over it and that's unlikely to change.

Most Lore organizations are open for anyone to join, the ones we can see as "guard guilds" (SI:7, SW guards, Death Guards, etc) aren't. And those we can see as exlusive, say Kirin Tor or the Argent Crusade (both with only a few hundred, hand-picked members), should be talked over with a GM first so we all are on the same page (no, you can't join the Argent Crusade as their leader), but other than that, if you wanna join any other neutral/friendly organization there's nothing stopping you. Be it a goblin cartel, the Church of Light/Shadow or what have you, it's Ok. As long as you don't try to use it as leverage against other players, like claiming you have the authority to ban someone from Ratchet. Because that is unnaceptable, and one of the problems we had with the SI:7 and Stormwind guards which lead to the removal of such guilds.

Though admittedly, I used to ban people from Stormwind on my guard, all those freaking darkspears who waltzed around without papers (I'm not looking at you Hawk :) ).
