Posting some questions hurr. :d
#1
Wasn't sure where to post these, so here they are. I was scribbling these on some paper during school (cause I have nothing better to do.) I don't remember exactly what they were supposed to remind myself to ask.. So.. :D

-Anyways, I scribbled out some human noble questions. First of all, am I able to play as one? If so am I able to play a corrupt one? To further his corruption is he able to be a warlock? Secretly of course. :)

-Also, he's rather wealthy and does some dirty work with thieves/drug cartels. I was wondering if there was any guild centered around this already? Also on this, I wrote something about guards/enforcers or whatever. Oh! I'm sure I'm able to hire out myself a personal guard(s)?

Now onto my orc. Or my new one. :d
First.. I understand orcs hold honor high, but this one could care less for being honorable and valorous. He's a rogue with some nice back story. With all his hatefulness, he holds a nice piece of my heart. I'm not sure what the exact question was.. Maybe just give me some info on orc rogues?

-Orcish clans. Here's where I'm a bit stumped on this character. I'm not sure where to make him originate from as I don't like making up a small clan. (Which I may do.) I was wanting one more centered around his dishonorable class and state of mind. More to explain his abilities which are advanced. He's rather old, more middle-aged actually, but he's quite experienced. I've thought about some like the Shattered Hand or maybe even the Laughing Skull, dunno though. I thought maybe to make him leave them and I'll explain why in the next question.

-Him leaving Outlands or Draenor at the time. If he's not with one of the two, or three clans (can't remember :p) that made the effort to break through to Azeroth, then he'd have to leave them. I can explain easily why, he has a family. He wants to protect them. If the world's falling down around him I think he (or anyone) would considering leaving your world for a possibly safer one.

-I wrote down agility for some reason. I guess it's something to do with the usual orc's muscled, bulky builds. I see him being able to... If you've ever played Splinter Cell, I imagined him similar to a Sam Fisher of orcs. lol I hope you understand what I mean. (cause I don't)

-Orcish internment camps. Maybe I should scratch that out, but I was hoping that they (the guards) would keep any sort of records. I just don't really see that happening though. Why? It ties deeply into his story. During my RP with him, he'll more than likely search throughout their ruins.

I think that's it. If you took the time to read these and give me some sort of feedback, I'd <3 you. :)

P.S.
Sorry if I did post this in the wrong area.

Oh! A few more. x] These don't go with the characters though.

-When did the Draenei and Orcs go to war with one another?
-Although I'm not doing this with my noble, I just thought it was a neat and more than likely impossible idea. As a 1st generation DK, would it be possible to live amongst humans?
-With a profile in the Character Profiles section, could I swap profiles for one that's in the Workshop?

Now I'm done. Sorry to take your time if you did read all these. :)

-edited to clean up my wall o' text.

Regarding nobility, I'd say yes. I'd be a little wary since being a noble provides your character with more clout than many others, but it all depends on how you use that power. It would be very interesting to see a corrupt noble -- and the use of demons to further his goals and powers is really nifty!

There are a number of thief-like guilds. There are also two gangs duking it out in Stormwind. You could probably hire them or any of the mercenary units that are around. Nostra's Blackdogs come to mind; I'm sure that he's always looking for more operations for them to run.

The best resource that I've found is the guide to roleplaying orcs on WoWWiki. It lists customs, behavior, language, names, clans (which should provide direction in your choice and specific requirements), and so on. It'll help you flesh out that character in believable ways. Which is always good, because it'll help when you get around to having that profile up for approval!

You might also want to check out the unofficial timeline and Theik's Zug zug and more! - A dummy guide to orcs!. The latter also includes a timeline that would help you determine milestones in your character's life.

Hope that this helps!

Edit: Must've missed the question you posted while replying. Stop editing your post, man!

Regarding profiles, you can only have one profile going through the approval process at a time. If you have one started and would like to switch it out for another, I'd bet it's possible. You'd have to note that in the original character's thread, either deleting it or requesting that it be moved to the Workshop. Just keep in mind that when you post your new profile, you'll most likely be at the bottom of the list again since profiles typically are reviewed so that the ones with the oldest last post first. As long as you can deal with that, I'd think it would be fine.

Then again, I'm no staff member!

Oh, and about death knights? Our wiki states that only third generation death knights are available to us. I suppose that you can see if they'd let you do one as a special profile, but I'm fairly certain (99.999% or so) that it would not be accepted. At all. Ever. But there's always a slim chance. If you're looking to play a death knight after being promoted to a grunt, you'll do best just being third generation.

I'll have to read up on those links. And maybe see if I can begin Danson's (the human noble) downfall. I'll probably make that out as part of a story or maybe just fill it in as the history.

I sort of imagine it as he hands a beggar some gold pieces. However, unknowingly he helped out someone of high ranking in whatever gang or cartel and they sort of buddy up. Danson's also young, he's sort of picking up his father's place of power as his father recently passed away leaving pretty much everything to his son. Maybe I should stop here and leave the rest for his history. :d

If you want to play a noble, you'll need to send in a 'special profile' for said character. It's like a prestige, but a position instead of a class, and submitted in a different way.

I'm sure I'll repeat what others have said but I'll give some definiate answers using my vast knowledge and infinite wisdom.

Stop laughing!

You can play as one, yes, but you will be rather limited as far as political clout and power goes, we don't want players (especially not with characters just starting out in-game) to be able to claim superiority over others without any effort made first. That means your character should be a minor noble, without much land or impressive titles to flaunt in others' faces. Though feel free to use whatever title or such to it's outmost if your character happens to be a braggart, just don't expect people to respect him ICly just because of it.

One thing to consider is that nobles, especially the rich ones, have little reason to leave their residence which might hamper your ability roleplay.

Quote:-Also, he's rather wealthy and does some dirty work with thieves/drug cartels. I was wondering if there was any guild centered around this already? Also on this, I wrote something about guards/enforcers or whatever. Oh! I'm sure I'm able to hire out myself a personal guard(s)?

There are a few wrong-side-of-the-law based guilds around which you could get around with, I myself hold the strings of one that is more of a Illuminati inspired thing which I plan to (shameless plug, hehe) start up again. But for cartels and gangs you better look at the Guild forum, I know there's the Painters and Fletcher gangs in Stormwind but I'm unsure if they're still active.

This is kinda hard, so I'm just going to direct you to read up on the Shattered Hand and the see if you find anything interesting on the WoWWiki, it's easier for you to read up on it all than for me to write it when there's already great sources out there! Here's a few articles from Blogatelle that might be useful on both Rogues and Orcs, Orc: Play File, Do it different: Rogues 1 and Do it different: Rogues 2. You can find other great sources for Lore info and RP tips in thread named "Useful Links" in the Articles and Guides forum (again, shameless plug, hehe).

Shattered Hand might be a good idea, I don't think they started out as rogues and such but they certainly are an organization centred around "rogueish" occupations now. Something that might help is that clans aren't as important in Horde society anylonger, Thrall has made sure to cement a stronger sense of unity within the Horde as opposed to the within the clans. I even remember reading that the clans were "abolished" and are now more like informal family bonds or have been turned into parts of the army (examples being the Shattered Hand which are pretty much the SI:7/Deathstalkers of the Horde or the Warsong Clan).

Quote:-Him leaving Outlands or Draenor at the time.

Hm, him being dishonourable and such might clash with the idea that he wants to go to great lengths protecting others, so I suggest you keep to one of clans that made the leap through the Dark Portal. Though many of them did, otherwise might he might have stayed in Outland and survived there, could be an interesting background if he just recently passed into Azeroth from living almost in exile somewhere on Outland.

Quote:-I wrote down agility for some reason. I guess it's something to do with the usual orc's muscled, bulky builds. I see him being able to... If you've ever played Splinter Cell, I imagined him similar to a Sam Fisher of orcs. lol I hope you understand what I mean. (cause I don't)

This doesn't seem to be much of a question but I guess you mean that he is leaner than most orcs are? Less bulk and more speed, no?

Quote:-Orcish internment camps. Maybe I should scratch that out, but I was hoping that they (the guards) would keep any sort of records. I just don't really see that happening though. Why? It ties deeply into his story. During my RP with him, he'll more than likely search throughout their ruins.

I really doubt they did, it seems to me that they treated the orcs much like animals and just made sure that they kept within the confines of the camp, so maybe they have a rough number of how many should be there, if there's less somone escaped and it'd be time to let out the bloodhounds.

Quote:-When did the Draenei and Orcs go to war with one another?

I think it was about 100 years before they passed into Azeroth, someone with the books on hand could probably give you an answer with more certainty.

Quote:-Although I'm not doing this with my noble, I just thought it was a neat and more than likely impossible idea. As a 1st generation DK, would it be possible to live amongst humans?

Nope, they aren't even playable here. I doubt we'd see any of them alive outside Outland nowadays anyway.
Quote:-With a profile in the Character Profiles section, could I swap profiles for one that's in the Workshop?

Nope, the first profile will have to go through the system first.

The noble I have is Danson and you're right about his status as a minor noble. He's only recently taken up this title. Also, I think I'm putting the guild/gang type of thing on hold for now. He needs to build himself up before taking on his ambitions. (In other words become a grunt. :D )

As for my orc, I'm thinking of the Bleeding Hollow possibly. I don't think they were big on orcish rogues, but I'm sure there must've been some. As for the camps, I was hoping that they might have some sort of order there, but I honestly knew there wasn't going to be any. Either way, he's still very much a WIP so I'm still tossing ideas around.
