A few questions.

Hello and what not, had a few quick questions to ask before I started rping on COTH.

1) I was planning on making a troll "alchemist" not a warcraft three style one at least, and nothing to overpowered (i.e making gold) but Is this okay, I wasnt really sure because of the prestigue system and wether or not it would be allowed.

2) Rp hotspots! from a quick talk with a person from /who I found out that it moves around a lot depending on the time of the day, is there any constant rp areas?

3) About the grunt thing needing a rp based story, I didnt do one on my recruitment post can I still make a random one up when applying for gruntship or do I need to have it based on the character im using?

As for number 1, I don't know. you'll have to wait for someone else to answer. As for number two. The RP hotspots I've encountered is the arena in Ratchet, Silvermoon, somtimes, but most of all, Stormwind.

As for 3, you can make a totally unrelated story, although keep in mind that it has to be serious to get accepted. You could also tell about something that happened during RP. In character, of course.

I do plan to make it serious have a half written story about a tauren rite going wrong, plan to most that when it is done.

I am full of answers to all of your important questions!

When you speak of alchemy, are you talking about transmutation? From my understanding, yes, you can be an alchemist. I'd be a little wary of going too in-depth with transmutation, partially due to the inherent strengths of someone with such a power and also because trolls don't seem overly skilled in that area (which means that you might have to explain how your character gained that knowledge or interest). Keep in mind the limitations that you would as an alchemist, even one skilled in transmutations: you would probably only to transmute occasionally and have to expend considerable energy to do so.

Rosencrat started a very good thread about this topic some time ago. The community discussed how viable it would be and what sort of limitations would exist. You might want to check out A Question of Transmutation!


Roleplay tends to be higher in neutral areas, since this is where the greater number of people can gather. As such, Ratchet (including the Arena!) and Booty Bay tend to be filled to capacity. Ashenvale has gotten considerable activity in recent weeks due to a new guild and conflicts that have cropped up there. Stormwind sees a pretty significant amount of people throughout the day, but I usually see them in clusters of no more than three or four. Everything else seems to wax and wane as new interests crop up.


Regarding your story, you will need a story. You should either edit your introduction to include one or provide a link to where one may be found on the forums. It can be based on anything; I've seen stories that don't even relate to World of Warcraft. One profile (can't remember who) even had a vampire story!

Hands down, top two RP spots on the server are Booty Bay and Stormwind, although both take a little prodding to become active (neither are active all the time.)
