Last week, I had percussion ensamble on monday, the flu on wednesday and tuesday, percussion ensamble on friday and saturday. I was also contacted by a former administrator that I worked with for over a year with the intentions to starting things up.
Becoming an administrator is something that totally revitalized my mind in RolePlaying. The idea of it being a job made me shape up my roleplaying in terms of maturity and reality. I ended up spending almost sixteen hours a day on the computer just checking profiles and making sure everything in RolePlay was going smooth, and that was just my normal time. Now I see that an opportunity is open again, and I'm going to take hold of it because now I'm experienced in my line of work. I've made a lot of mistakes that I know wont happen again. I'm probably going to be off of CotH for as long as the server stays up, however, when there's downtimes I'll try to stop by.
I can't thank the community here enough to what they've given me; both tolerance to my shoddy skills beforehand and a nice place to establish RP now. This place has taught me so much in a few months than in a few years on retail, however as we all know CotH is far from perfect. It's still the same place from last year that I was hanging around, which wasn't a very safe place. It's a place where you feel you have to watch your back and keep secrets, a place where you're forced to chin up and look your best. CotH wasn't made for everyone, and for those it wasn't made for, people have to change--Or atleast pretend to change. In this case, change isn't necessary for us to be a community, and I myself will not hide the differences between me and the next dope saying that you should leave the blood elves alone. People are going to complain because they feel uncomfortable, and if you squelch them like how many of you do, you're no different from the trolls had to swim through-- OotR people, Millenium WoW people-- All the same. If someones complaining, you need to understand their struggle. If someone says there's too much Death Knights it's probably because there are. If someone complains about there being no Horde characters, maybe it's time to mix it up a little. Maybe because we're comfortable on our Alliance Death Knight characters, we become afraid of playing an Orc: some believe we'd find little enjoyment in such a thing. In reality, most are simply scared of the idea and potray it as boring-- Even when they give it a try. But hey, Brutal and I play Orcs, we find enjoyment in it. . .You just need to be open to experience that enjoyment.
But despite the faults I find, Conquest of the Horde has made me a top-notch RolePlayer and moderator in the field of private servers among other areas. More than half of the people out there that I met on my endeavers either were denied by CotH or see it as a world full of strictness and injustice, and I have the smarts to prove them wrong. Well, I'll be seein' ya'll.
