The Light of Nova

Inspired by the stories and history of his ancestor, Jidaeo searches Azeroth for those he deems worthy to travel the skies on the path to destiny. Using his own Zepplin as his vessel, Jidaeo wishes to keep those around him using the bonds of trust and mutual benefit. Being of Noble blood he understands business and how to persuade others to see his way. He has learned a sense of brotherhood from his time as a Farstrider and even a Knight of the Ebon Blade.

IC Information

Basically an public Umbrella organization that lends services in a multitude of categories. Jidaeo would refer to them as revolutionaries looking to make profound change in the world, or at least in their own lives. Due to the way he saw his father making connections, he would wish to establish allies with other organizations. He already has interest in Aula Arcanum, he also plans to invest in such like organizations to strengthen bonds between them.

Jidaeo's aspirations are re-establishing himself as the Patriarch of the Novalight Shin'ari which would require a formal ball and induction ceremony to give him the Title of Nova. Informally he would have to in many words storm the Novalight estate and forcefully have a confrontation with his eldest sister, Naveria.

He also wishes to locate the Crystal Skulls of legend his Uncle told him about.

And he is always up for improving Sin'Dorei Nationalism and aiding Silvermoon in anyway possible.

Jidaeo also has a strong sense of comradarie, he is a man of his word. He wishes to use his resources to help the aspirations of his organization members. He often asks them what they aspire to do, and he honestly makes it the mission of the organization to solve or help them get what they wish.

A lot of different avenues this can go down. All some of the Shadows and some War Lights would have to be civilized and dignified enough to conduct business with prestigious organizations.

Rules

Of course all standard server rules apply.

Respect each other, you don't -have- to as Jidaeo won't respect humans, trolls, and draenei at first. But prepare to fight if you are constantly being rude....Unless you're a blood elf. And if you are of these races but genuinely wish to help the organization, He wouldn't belittle you as you would help secure cross faction interaction which won't bother him too much as he is in the Ebon Blade.

Jidaeo would command out of respect than discipline. He requests things of his members instead of direct orders unless it is absolutely imperative that the task gets done. He will also be more direct to others that need discipline however.

There are many jobs that need to be done. Pick a job that best fits your character and something you can enjoy role playing.

The group comes first. If one of us are caught we are all caught, and we -will- free captured members or die trying. The crew is similiar to a wolf pack.

Keep the business front correct. The Light of Nova will be involved in things that cant be known publicly, they will ally with almost any faction and alignment for mutual benefit and security. If the good guys are after them they can run to the catacombs, ( for example ) and if bad guys are after them they can run to some other place. Most likely they will have friends on both sides.

Thanks to Duskwolf We have Dragonhawk messengers. Basically we can use this GHI item to send messeges to each other and ICly only works if we're on the same continent, message travels by Silver dragonhawk hatchling. I can buy you one if you don't have 50 silver. It would be interesting to add it so different divisions can keep in touch with each other. Or different guild members in general.

Also to receive messages you need click the item. It's really easy to forget. Duskwolf has also made an addon that removes this minor inconvenience. The addon is extremely small so there's nothing to worry about. Here's the link.

OOC information

More than likely they will be events, I'd like to incorporate a leveling system but it may just be too complicated. It depends on the interest of this guild this time around however. I'd try my best to keep things fresh and exciting. Full of plot twists but I would like to stress this guild has a priority on Char development. I'll be honest Jidaeo is an arrogant asshole, you're not supposed to like him. But I'd like this guild to tell a story of adventurers who slowly become close friends.

Also I encourage -any- guild to confront the Light of Nova for business reasons, Jidaeo is a noble and once he gets inducted as the Nova he'll be really really rich. So he has no problem investing in your guild, or putting them to work. Or sending his own to work for them. We can have war, peace, or some sort of conflict depending on how things go down.

I also am open to the guild members putting in their two cents on where we should go. That's why Jidaeo asks your character what they want to do, what they aspire to be, and in time he will make your aspiration the focus of the guild. Granted it's not counter-productive.

The Ranks

The Council will server as advisers to Jidaeo and people who can voice their opinion over immediate matters of the organization. Who to make deals with, who not to. Who to kill ( if needed ) who to save. The Council will also be the immediate leader of each jurisdiction of the crew.

Council Positions.

Jidaeo - Overseer, pretty much a combination of all positions with less direct influence in each.

Asondra Novalight - Shadow Council, This person would lead the darker parts of the organization. Parts dealing with death, theft, smuggling ( if needed ) and would be the ambassador for evil connections.

Elenia "Elil" Ancalima - Spirit Council, This person would lead, tracking and hunting people. Keeping an eye out nouns of interest. And would be in charge of the scouts. This person would also be in charge of Relaying information to people.

Singerius Narmolanya - Public Council, This person would be in charge of the public fronts of the group. He or she would be the one who was the ambassador for neutral to good connections. They would also keep tabs on the public businesses ( if opened ) that would be under our protection.

Drakmian Ishnar Lightbound - War Council, This person would be in charge of armaments and battle strategy. Defensive action if pursued and the one to propose the method of attack. War council member would be in charge of training members in variety of melee classes. They would handle the mercenary jobs along with Shadow council depending on what the jobs require



( depending on involvement, there can be specific titles in each division, but for game mechanic purposes they would be as follows )

War Light - They would be the heavy hitters, the people first sent to answer mercenary missions. They may also be used to reinforce "Protection" of businesses. Their immediate superior officer would be the War Council Member.

Public Light- They would be the people upholding the front of the businesses The Light has invested in. They could be as civil as mutual employees to a business to help a guild. Or as physical as "Protection" of invested businesses. ( Not guards, but people who would make sure places of business stay profitable to the owner of business or guild. ) The public light members would always have to maintain without question that The Light of Nova and all of it's members would have to help uphold the positive public image. Their immediate officer would be the Public Council member.

Shadow - They would be the thieves, smugglers, dark arts and mercenaries who take jobs that the organization can't be publicly affiliated with. As long as they believed in the forward progress of the Light of Nova organization and were not counter-productive. They would remain connections with evil aligned guilds, aiding them if they needed it. Their immediate officer would be the Shadow Council member.

Spirit Light - They would be the hunters, trackers, and messengers of the organization. They would also be the ones mostly concerned with finding the Ancient Skulls. Archeologists and scientists, or anyone who valued information. They would acquire information and essentially be the "think tank" of the organization. Their immediate officer would be the Spirit Council member.

Initiate - One who has just joined, and has proven themselves worthy. They have yet to be assigned to a division.

Additional Information

Basically the moral code of the guild is Mutual benefit. I scratch your back you scratch mine, lets snow ball effect with power, information, gold and respect. The organization also keeps up a public appearance as It's leader would be Jidaeo if he becomes the Nova or official patriarch of the Novalight Noble house. Also all these divisions and positions are future ideas. IT would be a while before all of these divisions were moving in fluid motion simultaneously. This is a build from the ground up. And will be co administrated by council members.

I'll try my best to keep story lines progressing for the organization and have things to do for each division. Also if anyone who is interested in being a council member is interested in making story lines of their own they could lead their division on missions and things and report the information back to Jidaeo. And possibly request help from other divisions.

Main RP hud would most likely be the Zepplin which they would use for most of their independent transportation. As story progression goes, certain characters may branch out to different areas depending on their story arcs.

Also I saw someone post something that I agree with, mixing the guilds. Or at least more interaction with one another. Other guilds have great story lines going on too, The Light could send someone from one of the divisions to aid another guild. And that char could follow along and participate in other guild activities if it was okay with the respective guild of course. if your business needs protection ask for a public light. If you want someone killed or poisoned as for a Shadow, Extra muscle? or Mercenary War Light. Jidaeo supports my OOC love for the Aula Arcanum, so I'd imagine some of the spirit light would try to assist them anyway possible if it was alright with them of course. These are just examples as well, Each division also would have a range from docile to hostile-ish professions in each.

Also another Idea I'd like to propose is -if- the organization gets to the point ICly ( including Npcs ) and OOCly ( actual chars ) to the point where we need more modes of transportation it would be cool for a council member to maybe lead a vessel of his or her own with it's division. Also others could have a place to report to their division, such as the west sanctum for example in Eversong. It wouldn't be that place ICly but just an elven building. Also just an Idea. Council members feel free to run your division ICly and OOCly how you see fit if we get enough participants or enough RP that we can add NPCs. This could also lead to having a sub forum to document RP progression and keep story lines fresh and consistent.

I also encourage other guilds to send ambassadors or the like to The Light Organization if they ever wish to do business, return the favor or even keep an eye out for their own security. If I missed anything, feel free to clarify.

Taiga might be good for this. Her father was a very high-ranking noble, and she received all of the teachings, connections, etc. associated with it. She'd be a terrific public representative if she were to develop the interest for it.

As far as taiga's concerned, I'm sure Jid will try to persuade her ICly if she would have a remote interest, if he can't do it ICly though I understand. Public Council member I'm interested about because that person will really be in control of how the organization is seen overall.

Well you know Asondra is in, and with Jidaeo's retcon nature, I think he has a fairly good shot at making a lasting, proffitable connection with Avia and her fleet of ships in the Arcane Myst Enterprises. Even more suitable is Lucit, though she may be, but I would like to RP that out, as she was the head of the branch sent to "liberate" arcane items from ruins all around Azeroth, she's pretty handy, except the whole "no killing people" thing. :P

My character Maureen would be interested. She used to be a peasant High Elf working in the woods of Quel'talas, yada yada, the simple sort of girl with a longing for better. But then she became Blood Elf, Silvermoon was downed and she found herself a Death Knight. Likely a dead one. Though she isn't noble she tried her best to cope with her new feelings - she loves and all the stuff, just with a very undead twist to it..you get my point - and seeks power, knowledge, contacts and wealth since she made the establishment of a new colony for other DKs her sole purpose. (It's rather messed up. I'll fix a proper profile in time ) soo she'd be interested in joining. Just let me know how and when she could be recruited.

Besides I had much fun as my Paladin with many members of the Light of Nova (or was it Dawn..) so I am genuinely interested.

Cool the more the merrier. Jid would help her try to make a haven for DK's. Also if we get a sub-forum I plan to have threads on each division to keep plots organized and things like that. So the guild can do independent stories, and interact with other guilds. Feel free to bad other guild mates together to complete your char's goals and aspirations. Jidaeo plans on reclaiming his noble house soon, so we should be breaking ground on the foundation of the guild and longevity.
